A new violent thriller film from Universal Pictures is drawing controversy this week for a plot that centers around elite liberals killing pro-life advocates and conservatives for sport.
The Hollywood Reporter describes “The Hunt” as a satire, but the violence and political aspects of the film, especially in the wake of several mass shootings, have raised a lot of concerns.
This week, several ads for the film were pulled, and the studio said it is re-evaluating its promotional strategy, according to the report. However, the report indicates that Hollywood still plans to release the film on Sept. 27 in theaters.
The original title of the film was “Red State Vs. Blue State,” a clear indication of its political theme. Actors include Betty Gilpin and Hilary Swank. It is rated R.

“Did anyone see what our ratf——in-chief just did?” one character asks early in the screenplay … Another responds: “At least The Hunt’s coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables.” …
The violent, R-rated film from producer Jason Blum’s Blumhouse follows a dozen MAGA types who wake up in a clearing and realize they are being stalked for sport by elite liberals.
Pro-life advocates (described as “anti-choice”) are among the liberal elitists’ targets. As the report describes:
The script for The Hunt features the red-state characters wearing trucker hats and cowboy shirts, with one bragging about owning seven guns because it’s his constitutional right. The blue-state characters — some equally adept with firearms — explain that they picked their targets because they expressed anti-choice positions or used the N-word on Twitter.
The on-going violence in America, including mass shootings and escalating violence against pro-life advocates and conservatives, has people concerned about the film.
Fox News contributor Todd Starnes said “The Hunt” is edging too close to reality, writing:
The truth is that “deplorables” have been hunted by the leftists for quite some time now. I’ve lost count of the number of times Trump supporters have been bullied and badgered and beaten because they want to make America great again.
Just the other day, an unruly mob showed up at Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s home in Louisville, Kentucky. One of the protesters wished that someone would “just stab the motherf***er in the heart.”
LifeNews has documented dozens of incidents of vandalism, threats and violence against pro-lifers this year. These include physical assaults that led to hospitalization and arson on a college campus.
Conservative commentator Guy Benson said he supports free speech and would not ban the movie, but it is coming out at a “pretty raw” time for Americans.
“We had dozens of people shot, many of them killed over the last couple days, last weekend,” he told Fox News. “To have a movie, even though it is satire, that depicts Americans hunting and killing Americans, I think that’s not an image that people want to see at the moment.”

They have obviously been told what to say and have been getting calls. They are quick to divert you to another number and explain they are the theme park.
The number they give you to call is just a recorded comment line.
I feel the call to the theme park is much better at getting the message across.
I told them we were planning to come to the park but now have cancelled plans because the the Movie The Hunt.
They know about the movie, that is for certain. My suggestion is to call them. Be polite because the employees are just doing their job but let them know.
If the description is accurate I think this would be a very informative film about the mindset of liberals.
All the filmmakers are doing is getting buzz from the movie. They did the same with Black Panther and Captain Marvel: Trying to make it seem woke and generate controversy when it fact the movies were very good.
I gotta admit, the trailer for this movie looks good. I'll definitely catch it on my Google Play when it becomes available.

Maybe the first scene needs to be rewritten a little bit: “The first shot will be 123 gr. Lapua Scenar 6.5mm HPBT straight to the kneecap of some lib from...ohhhh, I dunno, let’s say from about 800 yards.”
I should be shocked by this, but sadly I am not.
But don’t the pro-lifers win in the end? That’s how most of these films/stories end (The Most Dangerous Game, etc.)
Pretty certain if a movie was labeled “Orange Man Bad” and all it showed was a colonoscopy of Biden, it’d be advertised as this years go to movie.

Liberals don’t kill people, they late term abortion them.
Rush spoke about this and had received information from Nick Searcy (Gosnell movie), stating that making conservatives into victims would back fire on libs and believe it ends with deplorables showing how conflicts actually win.
That's just their plausible deniability. What you will take away from the movie, and remember for years, is democrats shooting conservatives.
The best you could say about this movie, being shown at this time, is that it is wildly irresponsible.
Hard for hunters to win when the prey have superior firepower and skill.
And if the roles were reversed, the howls and cries for action against the studio, producer(s), writer(s), actors... We could not measure the gnashing of teeth from the left with existing technology. But when it is the right being hunted...{crickets}
Would be a hoot, don't you know.
The ONLY way that I’ll watch this “entertainment” is IF it ends with the surviving “hunters” standing on the gallows facing “their date certain with the hangman”, the screen fades to black & the final sound is the trap being sprung under their feet.
