That is exactly what Trump is doing by cutting off their funds and trade. When the Iranian people get enough of it, and ask their leaders to legitimately compromise, then forcefully do so, the war is won without firing a shot.

If it comes down to open conflict, Iran, facing it’s demise, will go all doomsday and attack Israel. Anyone not wearing 6,000,000 sunblock will have a very bad day.
Kharg Island will be “sunk” shortly after Iran jumps ugly with us. Ports. Naval facilities, etc. And I suspect the nuke facilities will likewise go up in smoke. Not that I want to see us involved in another war. Just sayin’ what will occur....

The Persians still live in the 20th century from a military standpoint. Of course all wars are bloody, but we take out the Guard, Quds their navy and airforce in 24 to 36 hours.

“Ahistorical”?
Iran, as it currently exists, has only fought one actual war, the Iran-Iraq war, which was fought to a deadlock, not a win. They’ve fought proxy wars, in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, but I don’t think any of those have been wins either. So what is “ahistorical”?
If the mullahs of Tehran trigger a war, the U.S. and Israel will not be alone in the military retaliation opposing them. The regime will be done for, and the opposition political movements will have a chance to restore a democratic society dominated by secular law to Iran. Once that happens, Russia and China will be big losers as well.
But has Iran let trannies into front line units, or made their soldiers march in high-heels so they better understand their male privilege? That’s what the military is really all about.
Someone described the Iran-Iraq war as World War I fought with World War III weapons.
The US would then retaliate by using smart weapons to destroy Iran’s “regime control assets” — the police and paramilitary units and facilities used to keep the population under control. Electric power, roads, and bridges would be next. Iran would collapse as an organized society.
