This was the heyday of talk radio in New York City. What a classic segment.

Bob Grant was wildly ascerbic, borderline reactionary, at times unbearable, but never unlistenable. Calling Cuomo "the sfaccimm" on the air and encouraging listeners to talk badly about the Gov in Italian was magnificent.

I also liked Curtis and Kuby - their differing perspectives was refreshing and both of them could be annoying and really good. The late Gene Burns was on WOR in the afternoons in the early 1990s, and was really good. I listened to him the day of Waco and he was absolutely on fire (no pun intended).

Howard Stern in the early 1990s was also very good at times. His, er ah, Ted Kennedy impression was, er ah, absolutely devastating. Listen to a few YouTube clips, er ah.
