Equifax says I was breached. The only reason I might file a claim is to get the free credit monitoring.

The article says that service is worth hundreds of dollars per year.

I don’t know about that. I do know I’ve lived 61 years without credit monitoring so is this really a big deal?

We have until next year to file - so I’ll wait and see....

Most credit card companies offer that service for free.

It’s not worth hundreds a year. I think with USAA I pay like 10/month for it...at most 12. So depending on where you get it ~$150.

I do it because I had some prior issues with identity theft. I keep getting offered additional because of everyone getting their data breached, but it’s not worth the additional hassle.
