Delta Air Lines has come under scrutiny after the carrier reportedly did not allow a service dog scheduled to be delivered to a two-year-old child dealing with seizures on one of its flights.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, pet rescue agency representative Kim Biggerstaff was planning to fly a service dog named Daisy to California to help a two-year-old girl named Mila Lhautara who was born with hydrocephalus and recently diagnosed with epilepsy.
When Biggerstaff tried to book a flight with Delta, the airline said the service dog would not be allowed to board. The animal was being flown to Mila, as her seizures cause difficulty breathing and Daisy would be able to alert the parents to the potential danger.
While Delta updated its emotional support animal policies in 2018 to not allow pit bulls on flights, Biggerstaff said Daisy is a boxer/bulldog mix. Despite the dogs documentation and training, Delta continued to refuse the animal on its flights.
I said that's discrimination. That's illegal, Biggerstaff FOX 10 Phoenix. They said, No, we have lawyers on standby. We wouldn't do this if there were any legal issues that could arouse.

In this case - Delta probably should have delivered the dog.
But - due to the horrible abuses this nation is dealing with regarding service animals - incidents like this are bound to happen.
Cry baby whiners.
And what an emotionally manipulative article.
When you can buy “service animal” vests off of eBay, and everybody with a dog starts using them to take PETS where they don’t belong, people needing genuine service dogs suffer. People can be such assholes. Dogs, typically not so much.
I’m starting to see many people with these so-called ‘service’ animals everywhere. You used to hardly ever see one, maybe once or twice a year. Now it’s so common, I begin to wonder if they are real service animals, or just pets that the owners put some special harness on.......................flame away.............
There goes any hope of ending this BS.
Ditto.
I posted nearly the same thing.
I notice that most of these people with ‘service’ animals are females with attitudes..............
I think a contributing factor is the upswing of people with “emotional support” animals. Which I see as a cheesy excuse to bring your pet with you to places they’re typically banned. A kid last spring was bringing is boa constrictor to school as “emotional support” because without it he felt unloved and panic stricken.
Which is blurring the line between true service dogs and this weird snowflake BS.
yes, there are people that need seeing eye dogs for one, but all these others are just infringing on other peoples rights to not have animals every where they go...
these people don’t want to pay to kennel their animal so they lug them into stores and restaurants and there are just enough people that fawn over them so you dare not complain...

Yep. Im totally blind in my right eye and wear an eye patch. My service dog walks on my right side to keep me from bumping into things since I have no side vision on my right. She is trained and allows me to have a fairly normal life.
Unfortunately, the idiots that buy service animal vests for their pets have poisoned the well for legitimate service animals.
No one dares question any of these people in public.....................
Why does the dog have to ride in the passenger section? Why can’t it go in cargo where most animals being shipped by air are kept?
I’ve been to Europe where dogs in restaurants are fairly common, but they are trained and quietly sitting beside their owners.
But here, it’s getting out of hand...................
Pit Bulls going off at 30,000 feet with 250 unarmed civilians, what’s wrong with that?
Put your “service animal” in the hold, it does not fit under your seat anyway.
Moronic tide pod eater...
We’re heading for a time where the passenger compartment on an airliner is going to resemble a Tijuana bus ... chickens and dogs running up and down the aisles — notwithstanding that they would be “service chickens” and “service dogs”.
BS. The parents should have been to watch over the child. No dog needed on that flight. More nonsense.
Why would you get a pitbull as a service dog?
About 5 years ago, I read an article written by a veterinarian who bragged about passing her pit bull off as a service animal (she bought a vest and some kind of legit looking fake certificate). Sad but people have thoroughly exploited the “service animal” status.
