Had some 45’s and they aren’t fun. 357mag is fun. The recoil on .45 comes from the slide cycling not the explosion. Fair amount of muzzle flip.
I know...it is like using a hammer that is bigger than needed for the job!
A stilletto can kill a person just as well as a Bowie Knife, but I Bowie Knife will scare them off far more effectively...:)
I would disagree with your post but...Bottom line is you want to shoot guns that are comfortable and that you can shoot well with, so find your fav and just get practiced. I am willing to bet that the RIGHT .45 for you is out there, and recoil is a function of the achieved muzzle velocity and mass of the bullet fired and the mass of the gun. Any slide cycling reduces the recoil. My 1911 in .45 has no more kick than some of my 9mm handguns.
“Had some 45s and they arent fun. 357mag is fun. “
Fun is firing off a few .357’s and noticing that suddenly no one is in the indoor range but you.
That is a broad and incorrect statement.
My Kimber Micro 9 has far more recoil than any 45 I own. Small guns have recoil, even when using smaller caliber rounds.
IMO no pistol is fun. The are all inherently nasty things. OTOH rifles can be fun and ‘beautiful’ to shoot.
