Can you imagine a NASA scientist sharing his computations with a colleague, only to have them remark that the parentheses around an equation reminded him of a woman’s hips and were therefore sexist? Or some other absurd thing? If we restricted math to what these idiots consider “socially acceptable”, we’d be using our fingers and toes to count on.
