When Sonia E. Wilson went to get a pedicure on the Fourth of July, she didnt expect to wait at her neighborhood salon, figuring most women had rushed to get their nails done before the holiday.
Women werent the problem. The Brooklyn, N.Y., salon was packed with men.
Ms. Wilson learned she was fourth in line after three menall having pedicures. I dont mind men stepping up their grooming, said Ms. Wilson, a development officer at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. But I cant say I was happy to wait close to an hour while three of them were ahead of me. I gave them the side-eye.

I know about the toenail trim problem. As an old fart I can’t reach them to cut them. Fortunately my wife does it for me. But I am still able to trim my own fingernails.
I have never been to a nail salon but my Daughter used to tell me that I had pretty feet.
Then when I got to maybe 50, I got toenail fungus. I tried everything but nothing did any good at all.
Just about a year ago, I mentioned it to my Dr. He said that my liver was in good shape so he prescribed something. It took two months but they cleared up.
I was just putting on my socks this morning and thought to myself: “My feet are nice again”.
Probably correct.
And there are a lot of them in Brooklyn.
They can’t get manicures. That’s sexist! They get personicures.
Accessorize! Gotta make sure their pedis match their purses.
Ugh, at least she wasn’t waiting for them to get a wax job on their down below.
I am seeing this toe nail polish thing on millennial ‘men’, even former military. My reaction is about the same as your post. I just think to myself, “weird”.
Frank Costanza could tell you all about it...
A lot of the nail salons dont take appointments for pedicures.
Ours does. Mrs. L and I do enjoy getting ours done together. One of the perks of old age. We know longer give a rip what people think of us. She gets polish. I dont.
Just clearing that up in advance.

No, it wasnt.
Hey, I sometimes get both a pedicure and manicure, sometimes simultaneously. Its nice to have two or three cute young ladies treating me like a king for the time it takes to complete the process. Dont knock it til you try it. Your feet will thank you.
I get one once a year, mainly because as I have gotten older (50 years old now) bending over to clip my nails makes my back act up (lol) and I am trying to keep my feet from getting entirely nasty like my dads feet were.
But at 25 doing that? Who had the money for such things at that age? Not I.
Yes, what you said. And they probably have student loans and think we should pay for them. On their parents’ health insurance still, and parents pay for (at least) their cell phone and car insurance. But they think it is a good use of money to get their nails done “professionally”.
Young men are becoming increasingly gay with waxing and plucking their eyebrows, facials, and now manicures and pedicures.
I’m very happy with my manly Marine, thank you very much!!!
Chicks with d**ks.
Actually, I’ve been thinking of going myself - getting hard to reach my toenails anymore.
They can get mousse in their man bun.
As a retired Auto mechanic and former active duty Marine Artilleryman (0811)I:
-Vote for Constitutional Conservatives (President Trump)
-Have busted my knuckles for almost my entire life
-Support the Right to Life Absolutely as well as Constitutional Carry
-Go to a Barber
-Shave on occasion - using a cup and brush
-Wear boot cut Wranglers (over Justin boots)
And yes. I do go to have a pedicure with my wife on occasion. My diabetic feet feel really good afterwards, too.
I have to say, I haven’t seen many “man-buns” present, either.
