SpaceX launched and landed its Starhopper rocket in its first flight, a short test that saw the company take a giant leap forward in its development of a next-generation rocket that it hopes will take people to the moon and Mars.

The rocket is the prototype for SpaceX’s vehicle called Starship. The company is building the enormous rocket to achieve its goal of transporting up to 100 people in the space flights.

“Starhopper flight successful,” SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet.

Musk posted a video SpaceX took of Thursday’s flight test from a flying drone nearby. The flight took place at SpaceX’s facility in Boca Chica Beach, Texas.

Not a hero, just someone with bigger aspirations than a hedge fund manager who doesn’t hire anyone, just pushes electronic bits around for nothing.

Musk is an employer who builds futures.
I like the Fisher Sand and Gravel Company’s President and CEO Tommy Fisher, from BUILD THE WALL, they are really out there doing it. But for HERO, nope. I was just wondering if you could name someone like Tommy Fisher, and apparently you can’t.
3M is another company doing R&D, and I actually own that stock. They are doing real work on future products. I’m happy with that as well. As for P.T. Barnum, he sold the show, and yeah people who went in thinking it was real were duped. Musk is actually selling a real product, stuff goes actually into space (18 times to the ISS that the our federal government can’t get into space without the russians!)

So while I understand your analogy, it seems like critical of something that is actually produced. It’s not quite the SHAM-WOW here, it is an actual car, actual rockets, actual solar roofing, actual batteries, actual flame throwers. You may not like the product, but if it was fraud, he’d be out of business.

Follow up, will you say you were wrong if he is a success and makes it to the moon, or will it still be, P.T. Barnum?

IIRC, Viagra was an accidental side effect of a blood pressure med that was discovered during clinical trials.

A billion dollar mistake in the right direction.

Phineas Taylor Barnum (/ˈbɑːrnəm/; July 5, 1810 – April 7, 1891) was an American showman, politician, and businessman remembered for promoting celebrated hoaxes and for founding the Barnum & Bailey Circus (1871–2017).[1] He was also an author, publisher, and philanthropist, though he said of himself: "I am a showman by profession ... and all the gilding shall make nothing else of me".[2] According to his critics, his personal aim was "to put money in his own coffers."[2] He is widely credited with coining the adage "There's a sucker born every minute",[3] although no proof can be found of him saying this. Sounds about right.

If SpaceX stays in business I’ll consider it a success. I am rooting for it’s success, as stated.

Tesla? I will be surprised if it breaks even even for one year before it crumbles under the weight of all of its debt.

Regarding Viagra, that is correct. I recently floated by the doctors house on “Star Island” South Beach, Miami. His neighbors are famous actors and musicians and he has one of if not the largest house there.

Serendipity.

“he has one of if not the largest house there.”

But of course he does...

Building a fully reusable rocket is a much more significant event than inventing viagra. Musk’s other companies make sense if you consider what a Moon or Mars settlement needs.

Elon Musk, the StarProphet! He’ll probably be part of the pantheon of the future Solar System-wide religion...
