Did Alienating Conservatives Cause Netflix To Lose Subscribers?

On Wednesday, Netflix announced its subscriber base in the United States declined for the first time since 2011.

...

Netflix blames the decline on its most recent price increase...

Perhaps there’s another factor that Netflix is missing, or evening ignoring ....

For more than a year now, Netflix has made some controversial moves that undeniably alienated a large portion of its U.S. subscribers: conservatives.

Back in March of 2018, Netflix named former Susan Rice, the former National Security Adviser and Ambassador to the United Nations under Barack Obama, to their Board of Directors.

...

Rice’s placement on the Board of Directors was also criticized because her national security background seemed irrelevant to being on the BOD of an entertainment company.

Ham - First, you try to tell me Disney is gone from Netflix. Now after showing you there is still lots of choices, you try to tell me there used to be lots and lots more. I don't care.

Disney shows have always left Netflix. None of them are permanent and have never been permanent. Most Disney content is on Netflix from one to two years and then they go.

You seem a bit distraught about Netflix' future, so if you're not happy being a subscriber, cancel! It's no more complicated than that. Let's go to more important things.

I never said Netflix lost ALL Disney content, and I never stated the Disney content was just movies, that was yourself not I, not sure where you got that idea.

Distraught? Not sure what exactly you are reading, because I have no dog in this hunt at all.. I am just stating the realities of Netflix future. Their first mover advantage is gone, they raised their rates at the same time they are losing a lot of third party content and their in house productions barring a few edge cases are not compelling.

They aren’t going out of business but they are going to continue to see subscription declines in the US.
