Rutger Hauer, star of "Blade Runner," has died at age 75, Fox News has learned.
The Dutch actor was best known for his role as Harrison Ford's nemesis Roy Batty in the 1982 movie, "Blade Runner." While Hauer's role in the Ridley Scott cult favorite is perhaps his most notable performance, he was also known for "Batman Begins" and "Sin City."
He also won a Golden Globe award for his role in the 1987 TV film "Escape from Sobibor."

Like Tears in Rain :(
RIP Rutger.
My favorite is one he did opposite Stallone, “Nighthawks”. Exciting!
I remember him as the psychopathic killer in “The Hitcher” (1986)and as Wulfgar the terrorist in “Nighthawks” (1981)
About ten years ago, I was walking down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and I see this guy lumbering towards me, hunched over, backpack on his back, swinging his arms like a gorilla. As I got closer I realized it was Rutger Hauer.
Oh no! :(...
He must have fallen a ways. I watched “Hobo with a Shotgun”. Entertaining, violent, bad movie.
Gads!
Also “Soldier of Orange”.
He AD-LIBBED that! Spectacular.
RIP... Good actor. He always made an excellent villain.
Sorry to hear this.
He was very good in Escape from Sobibor. One of my favourites. I also liked him as the baddie in the Sylvester Stallone movie. And, of course, he was iconic as Roy Batty in Blade Runner.
Only 75. Too young.
“I’ve seen things...you people wouldn’t believe”. I got to see the director’s cut of Blade Runner at some theater down in LA when it came out, and Rutger Hauer made an appearance at that showing. I loved that movie - the first DVD I ever got was the director’s cut - and Hauer’s performance was a big reason why. RIP.

That is one of the most poetic and illustrative comments I think I have ever read on FR. In two sentences you absolutely captured the essence of this man and you did him a great honor and you’ve also done the rest of us a great service with your lovely way with words!!!
Kindest regards and deepest respects,
Megan
Let's not forget "Hobo with a Shotgun."
RIP Rutger. I enjoyed your movies!
Helluva a character actor and more
Man I loved when he had a good script to work with
An hombre
