Marvel Studios has announced that actress Natalie Portman will take up the hammer and replace Chris Hemsworth as Thor God of Thunder.
Portman, who played Thors love interest Jane Foster in the first Thor film, has kept herself at arms length from the Marvel Cinematic Universe since her debut in 2011. Disney owns Marvel Studios. She has been so skittish about returning to the MCU that filmmakers had to use old footage and special effects to add her to the flashback scenes in its Summer blockbuster Avengers: Endgame.
But at San Diegos famed Comic Con this weekend, Marvel Studios announced that Portman will return to the MCU for the next Thor movie and she will be replacing Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder.
As the Associated Press noted, Portman, who played Jane in the first two Thor films, will be remerging as the female Thor. She ran out on stage to thunderous applause and accepted the hammer from a kneeling Taika Waitit. According to the casting list, Hemsworth will appear and star in Thor 4.
That was far from the only news announced during the Marvel panel at Comic Con. Also announced is that MCUs first officially gay superhero will be affirmed. The character, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), has already been seen on the screen but will be confirmed as gay in an upcoming film.
In other gender-swapping movie news, EON Productions announced this month that the next 007 Spy will be portrayed by a black female.

>>I agree with you that his Thor has been a great character despite, well, becoming a little plump for a movie.
Maybe he can star in the rock musical The Thors about fat Jim Morrison finding a magic hammer.
Interesting to witness a movie franchise die.
he was alive when Thor was no longer able to lift Mjolnier and Jane lifted and became Thor. But she cancer and died fighting Magog to save Asgard. But she was brought back .
When Daniel Craig announced that he wouldn’t do another Bond filmI said to myself, the next 007 will bbe a black female. And sure enough.
Haven’t been to the movies in 20 years in any case.

Maybe female thor and female 007 can get into a LGBTQRZ sword fight.
1) She will live in Asgard, but it will look like a Planned Parenthood
2) It will be populated and run by CAIR.
3) Her parents, Odin and Frigga will be a same sex marriage.
Anything else?
Not going to see this new line of Sh*bombs.
This follows the Thor comics ... its not just the movies changing a character into a female. Jane Foster became Thor in 2014.
Is anything in the comic book movies believable?
That horse Thor is Beta Ray Bill. Hell be in the next Thor movie.
"Noooo.." because in the hands of Leftists, feminism is more about male dis-empowerment than female empowerment. Just as in their hands, the black civil rights movement is more about less civil rights for white than more rights for blacks
The totalitarian prescription of less power and fewer rights for people is just who Leftists have always been.
Miss A-cup as Thor? LOL.
Instead of coming up with new, interesting movies, Hollywood just changes the male characters to female and calls it a day.
No imagination anymore.
Get Woke. Go Broke.
Working hard to kill the brand.
What’s that made of, foam? Those arms could only swing Thor’s hammer with CGI.
They're bringing her back. There's a Black Widow movie coming out.
In comics, nobody's dead forever, except Uncle Ben and Bruce Wayne's parents.
A female Thor and a lesbian superhero. What are the lesbo's special powers?!
They can lick all of their opponents!
Modern movies are why I stick with TCM.
