Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Fox News "went all in for Trump" in the 2016 primaries in an interview with PBS's "Firing Line with Margaret Hoover."
"I think Fox News went all in for Trump. That was the decision they made," Cruz said in an interview about journalist Tim Albertas book "American Carnage," which quotes Cruz as saying Fox News founder Roger Ailes's "dying wish" was to elect Trump as president. Ailes was forced out in 2016 over sexual misconduct allegations and died the next year.
Asked about the quote, Cruz said, "I didnt know Roger well, but I think it clearly is what he wanted to do."
Hoover asked Cruz why he believed the network preferred Trump as a candidate. "I cant tell you that, but I can tell you, starting in about March of 2016, they went all in for Trump, and they made a decision. That was a decision made at the network level, reflected on every show," Cruz said.

This simply isn’t true, especially during the primaries.
He makes a claim without offering “proofs” or examples. I think he’s been getting into the cooking sherry again. FOX is pretty damn leftist too, they have (some) excellent conservative leaning talent, but overall they can be squishy as hell. Whine Williams, Shemp, et al, are not remotely conservative.
Does Ted really care about America? Thats always been the question at the back of my mind.
Exactly what I was going to say....Cruz is still butt hurt over 2016.
Remember those “Voter Violation” notices he sent to Iowa voters before the January 2016 caucus?
Those notices made it sound like those voters committed a crime for not voting in a previous election.
As southern conservative a state that South Carolina is, Ted Cruz did not win even one single county in the entire state! Not one! I guess he blames that on Fox “going all in for Trump.”
So glad he lost!
Uh, no, I dont think so.
Inching his way to get revenge - a vote FOR impeachment. 62 and counting.
Ted Cruz is brilliant in the legal arena, but as far as anything else, he has distinctly hard limits on his intelligence. He’s a very skilled litigator, a slightly below mediocre politician, but on this topic, he’s a dipwad.
I have got a big problem with Ted the sore loser Cruz. He is still waiting for an opportunity to stab President Trump in the back.
His butt is grass.
Is ted becoming the next Scarborough?
Megan Kelly was very pro-Cruz and anti-Trump.
Greg Gutfeld used to mock Trump regularly until he won the nomination. Dana Perino was literally crying the night Jeb threw in the towel. The most reliable Fox News personalities for Trump were Hannity, Dobbs, and Varney.
Faux went all in for Jeb and then conspired with Meygn Kelly and key reporters to stab him in the back.
Cruz is starting to loose his grip on reality again.
Yeah. Sure. Right. Whatever you say Cruz. I think what I read on this db and saw in the debates, especially with Megan and Chris as moderators, sure said otherwise.
It looks like Cruz is trying to beat his idiotic speech to the National GOP convention to nominate Trump. Or, of course, there was that moment with the nose droppings.
Cruz’s comments are the reasons why Cruz almost lost Texas.
Bitter loser.
He is actually dead wrong about that. I remember that during the primaries, most Fox hosts were totally in for Marco Rubio. Then when it was clear that Foam Boy wasn’t going anywhere, they turned desperately to Cruz before they saw the writing on the wall.
It was so bad, my BF would sit and watch Fox for hours and then tell me that he was afraid Trump “wasn’t going to make it”. That is how much FoxNews was trashing Trump almost up to the Convention.
I guess he doesn't watch Shep, or many others. It makes his statement a LIE.
Every time you begin to think about inviting him back into the tent, he craps himself again.
The tent ain’t that big.
Lots of questions surrounding his Cuban father.
Senator is as high as he can go since he's not a NBC. He better start doing the job his constituents hired him to do or he will be selling nachos in a taco truck.
