Among the various hot topics at Big 12 media days this week was one about a famous hand gesture.
Opposing teams have been inverting the Hook Em Horns sign forever. The reason? S---, legendary Oklahoma coach Barry Switzer recently told ESPN. Its just fun!
As a quick refresher, the hand signal in question is made by extending the index and pinky fingers while grasping the middle two fingers with the thumb. Its supposed to look like the Longhorns mascot Bevo. Players from Oklahoma, West Virginia and elsewhere, however, prefer it upside down.

Never heard that one.
When I was there, the joke was:
“What keeps the state of Texas from sliding into the Gulf of Mexico?”
“Oklahoma sucks!”
What a bunch of whiners UT ARE.
Nice to showcase your university's inability to teach standard grammar. :P
Frankly, I think the way to shut up a "horns down" is simply to keep the other team out of the end zone. Winning is always the best revenge.
Austin, as a whole, has a major case of California envy. They lap up every kooky idea coming from San Francisco and Berkeley. I say that as a Longhorn alum.
I understand that last year UT passed a new regulation that all men would be required to take a course in "toxic masculinity". I responded that must be why the Longhorn defense plays like a bunch of pussies.
Hahahaha. Back when the country had a sense of humor.
Roger that ;-)
