Serious question. So churches have bodies buried under them that they don’t track or mark as graves? Where else is this? In the US we aren’t that old so I don’t think it’s common here.

have you seen the paris catacombs? Hate to break it to anyone but the idea of every single person getting a plot and a headstone, let alone all this being preserved in perpetuity is a relatively recent idea.

So in 1983 Donald Trump visited the Vatican with a yet unaccounted for young woman? Steve Cohen needs to get right on this.

"Vatican officials later realized that structural work had been carried out on the cemetery and the neighboring college in the 1960s and 1970s, which may have resulted in the bones being moved."

Because it seems there was no record of them. Not a “shock”, unless some of the bones are from the current era. That wouldn’t be good.

The church of Rome was literally built and expanded upon the bodies of Christian and Jew ‘heretics.’ Why should finding bones like this be any surprise?

The Vatican was built on top of an ancient Roman cemetery which was the burial place of St Peter. Of course there are bones there.
