Hottest weather of season on tap for Northeast as record-challenging heat wave builds

As heat expands across the northeastern United States, highs near the century mark will be common, with some locations experiencing dangerously high AccuWeather ReelFeel® Temperatures well above 100 F -- but not before what's left of Barry sweeps through with localized flooding downpours.

While temperatures may be briefly held back in areas that receive a thorough drenching for a day or so, intense July sunshine, combined with a northward retreat of the jet stream will allow an impressive heat wave to build even for midsummer standards.

I would love to see another blackout in NYC. Just like the one in 1977.

dangerously high AccuWeather ReelFeel® Temperatures

WTF???

Do they have to make up new numbers to tell us it's hot in the summer?

We’ve only had one day that reached 100 this season...so far. It’s been in the 90s and upper 80s. Actually it’s been below normal. What these climate alarmists don’t know or are faking people out is that the temperatures depend on high and low pressures. They are patterns and waves in the atmosphere that NOBODY can do ANYTHING about it.

"As heat expands across the northeastern United States, highs near the century mark will be common..."

It's July - it's always hot in July. That is all.

Strangely enough, we’ve had very few 100° F. days in Sacramento, CA. (shrug)

[[I would love to see another blackout in NYC. Just like the one in 1977.]]

What a horrible summer in NYC back then. Fiscal disaster, Son of Sam, blackout and disco. Yankees won the series though.

I remember getting stuck in Buffalo for four days during the blizzard of ‘77.

Here, the news reporter that the Union of Concerned Liberals Posing as Scientists said that Florida will get more feel like 100+ degrees days by 2050...

I thought the world was going to end by 2030, so a group of Liberals are lying - if not both...😋

Growing up in Central NY, I remember that most summers had at least one day of temperatures above 100 degrees. That was 40, 50 years ago.

Yeah, but living in Rochester NY, I'd much rather the heat wave came in January, not July.
