Soccer player Daniel Sturridge has been reunited with his dog Lucci after the black and white Pomeranian was stolen from his West Hollywood home.

Los Angeles police confirmed to KABC the dog was located early Wednesday morning and police were not present when the dog was returned.

Sturridge told police he did not believe the person who returned Lucci was involved in the burglary of his house.

Sturridge, who made 18 appearances last season with Liverpool F.C. in England's top soccer league, pleaded for the return of his beloved Lucci, who apparently was stolen from his home in the Hollywood Hills.

"I'm not even trying to find out who did it. It doesn't matter to me. I just want the dog back," Sturridge said in an interview with "Good Morning America." "I know there's a lot of dog lovers out there ... dogs are considered family members."

Sturridge told police he did not believe the person who returned Lucci was involved in the burglary of his house.

How would he know, unless he has evidence that he'd better share with the police, or it would be reasonable to believe he, himself, set the whole thing up?

Anyway, it's nice to know the doggy is safe.

By the way. DO you know who keeps the doggie ping list? I’m curious what breed Lucci is.

Okay. Maybe the dog got out during the robbery, rather than being dog-napped.

I like Sturridge. I was sitting just to the side of the goal when he scored a header against Italy in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. After that he had a professional meltdown of sorts, mostly because of injuries, and he doesn’t start much anymore. That said, when he’s healthy he is one of the greatest athletes in the world. Nice to see he loves his dog.

Lucci?

Not Lucy? Can the dog read?

I named my dog "Dog"

My adult niece asked my how I spelled it.

Me: *Does not matter, he can't read.

I think it’s supposed to be, “Loo-Chee”. It’s kinda pretentious, but we give our dogs German names, so.. To each their own.

I had a friend in high school who named her cat Siouxsie (”Susie”).

Had a very scurrilous best friend that named his big tomcat MF'r.

Loved to scandalize folks by calling him to come home, and then seeing this big happy boy come bounding over the fence.

No surprise, that best friend used to get me in a lot of trouble.

Did you hear Megan Rapinoe got kidnapped?

Yeah, they were trying to steal her dog. But how could you tell them apart?
