DOn't see a discussion thread on Acosta's press conference. Is anyone else watching?
I think this guy is in same the smarmy/oily league as Christopher Wray. He sympathizes with the victims, but claims he was just following department policy.
Whatever the case, if the President wants him to stay then he sbould stay
Pressure from the top for him to drop the case and let the billiionaire pedo go free.
Acosta did what he could with a shiatsandwich of a case, a lot DID go wrong with this case. The girls were getting paid off so they would just stop cooperating. It wasn’t open/closed case. Plus he has pressure from DC to drop the case and move on.
He got what he could. He wanted to world to know the Epstein was a Child Pedo, and that was the end result of the guilty plea.
Don’t over react at this, the Deep State wants you to blame this all on Acosta, so they can blame it all on Trump.
Don’t fall for it
They all are oily swine.
Just the same one is taking a chance with a jury. IF epstein walks, he’s untouchable. Take the guilty plea, and make th ebest of it.
Krischer was all over the case when Palm Beach Police told him of their case without mentioning names, but he sabotaged the case once he found out it was Epstein.
Coulter said that even though Acosta was weak and chickened out, he's still the only one who actually stepped into the state's jurisdiction and obtained a conviction when the proper Florida legal entities would not.
It makes one wonder if Epstein had something on Krischer, too. Acosta is not the bad guy here. He's the only person who actually got results, and he was acting outside his jurisdiction when doing it.
It may be that Acosta is being unfairly used by the Democrats to pivot Epstein away from them and into a Trump scandal.

Everyone involved either was raping kids or helping. Id like true justice for all who participated in helping Epstein and his Saudi bosses.
And to let you know, some of the girls involved in this, are now multi millionaires, collecting giant “hush money” payments from wealthy men.
They are not the poor innocent victims that the Deep State Media is trying to make them out to be.
They could either testify in court and put this monster away for life, or blackmail and collect millions for life, many chose the later
I see your point of view, and I could see how Acosta felt trapped from above. But, it sure sounds to me that instead of saying that, he’s hiding behind the legalism of departmental procedure at that time.
Saying that they achieved their goal of putting Epstein behind bars is rather an insult, since Epstein only slept at the jail.
Now, as I watch, he states that the work-release was BS, and not what he expected. So, the terms of confinement were passed from the Feds onto Florida. He says he’s outraged (now) too. Maybe he really feels that way, but its also convenient.
And now he’s speaking Spanish. Everyone seems to do it now.
I see your points. Maybe Acosta was used, as often happens within a complex organization. But, he’s been silent about this for a very long time.
As to whether “getting” Acosta will affect Trump... I don’t see how. After all, Acosta was asked if this was going to be a problem during vetting, and replied in the negative (according to, I believe, Breitbart).
Acosta is looking like a weasel. He oozes toady. No spine.
He is coming across as weak and ineffectual.
If you know how private aviation works, customs has the name and address of record of every perp and victim of Epstein. Acosta is asking for victims. He already has that info in customs records. The guy is selling bullshit and he’s scared for his life.
I'm not listening, so I can't comment on what's being said.
That said, Acosta was a FEDERAL prosecutor and this was a state crime. He had no role at all; the feds usually wait for the state to adjudicate and then look for interstate angles to justify their involvement.
What Acosta did at the urging of the Palm Beach Chief of Police was to step out of his lane and pressure Epstein to plead guilty to one count of a state crime, not a federal crime. So whatever "legalese" Acosta is saying is to explain why he had no jurisdiction to act, but stepped into the state business anyway due to the heinousness of the crime.
Does this help to put Acosta's actions and words into context? BTW, I got all this only from listening to Ann Coulter on Breitbart Radio last night, because she's been on top of this story since 2005.

Yeah, that’s my sense, too.
After listening to him for a while, I’ve backed off a bit from thinking of him as wilfully in on the deal, but still seems like he’s justifying himself in a legalistic way.

Wow did he ever dodge the intelligence community asset question! It was a straight up yes or no question and his response was an awkward non answer answer, mocking anyone who should ask it again.
Acosta did it about twenty times in a row there for a while.
I have seen this a lot of late.
******
Acosta, "SO, UMMMM.........."
This guy is quite a character, but I really wondering from where this "SO ...." technique has derived.
He sounds like a weak-minded fool beginning his answers.
The customs logs are federal records. The feds knew from flight #1.
I see your point of view, and I could see how Acosta felt trapped from above. But, it sure sounds to me that instead of saying that, hes hiding behind the legalism of departmental procedure at that time.
That is just how lawyers talk
Always you laws and facts, not feelings and stuff that can’t be proven
I remember him saying that his goal was to prove to the world that Epstain was a pedophile. The world knows what a sleazeball he is now, no excuse now. And he will never get a sweetheart deal like that again. And it looks like he continued on his pedo perversion, cause this arrest was based on new evidence.
Please expand on his answer mocking them. Details please. I am office bound right now and missed it.
