Tucker Carlson: How Did CNN's Chris Cuomo Get Into Yale?
Real Clear Politics ^ | 7/9/2019 | Tim Haines

TUCKER CARLSON: If you’ve ever watched Chris Cuomo on CNN, you may have wondered: how did this guy get a TV show? Sure, he’s got well-defined abdominal muscles, and good for him. But he can barely speak English. There are nights when Cuomo emits entire paragraphs that mean nothing at all. Just pure gibberish, like pig Latin, or dogs barking. It’s remarkable. Was this guy educated in the United States? Let’s check Wikipedia. Wait it a second. The entry says that Chris Cuomo went to Yale University in Connecticut. That can’t be right. Yale has famously high admissions standards. Your kids couldn’t get in. No chance. They’d have to be incredibly smart — geniuses, really. Is Chris Cuomo a secret genius? Does he have some amazing talent that’s invisible on TV? Maybe he speaks flawless Urdu? Or has a deep grounding in particle physics? Or can calculate pi to the final digit? Actually, no. Chris Cuomo can’t do any of that.

It turns out that he has an even more impressive qualification: His father was the governor of New York. If you want to get into a top American college, it’s best to have a parent who’s a well-known Democratic politician. That’s the most effective credential of all.

Don’t take our word for it. Ask Dante DeBlasio, son of Bill DeBlasio, the incompetent mayor of New York. There’s no evidence the younger DeBlasio did remarkably well in high school. And yet, like Chris Cuomo, he somehow got into Yale.

Once there, Dante DeBlasio found himself surrounded by people just like himself: the thoroughly average children of other prominent liberals. According to press reports, That would include the offspring of at least three Democrats currently-serving in the US Senate: Michael Bennett, Amy Klobuchar and Sheldon Whitehouse. All of them

The dirty little secret of the “Elites”: while the guy who made the fortune which put them into the upper class may have been brilliant and driven, his offspring tend to be unexceptional. By the second or third generation, very unexceptional.

My observation from extremely successful businesses founded by a brilliant entrepreneur who passes them on to his children is this: the first generation he passes it to is a crap shoot, probably 50/50 that he'll either do reasonably well (but less so than the parent) or wreck the business. By the second generation it tips more to 25% likely do do well and 75% likely to destroy the business. Children of privilege do not want to get their hands dirty doing work. Those who watched their parent build a business are not so far from it that they feel it's beneath them. But if they manage to make the business even more succesful their own children have no experience with anything other than wealth. Working is for the little people, don't you know.

My son missed no questions on the Math part of the SAT and 1 question on the English. He didn’t get into Yale. A minority guy in his high school class who was 200 points lower on SAT and well below in class ranking, was accepted into every Ivy to which he applied.

I once told a very good friend who is Black, that encountering a Black in the workplace who cannot work up to the expectations of the job, ALWAYS brings up the specter of affirmative action. She was shocked. We live in interesting times.

Actually, there’s an entire field of study on this: Reversion to the Mean - Statistics.

Unless you are actually breeding for performance, statistics is a cruel master.

“Chelsea also holds a Ph.D. from Oxford....”

Evidently, the old “piled higher and deeper” definition of Ph.D holds water.

As bad as Chris is, his brother Andy Cuomo comes across as a bigger moron. Like he didn’t get enough oxygen at birth. Like a retarded guy reading weather reports.

They are both OBNOXIOUS radical Leftists and epitomize arrogance and pomposity and buffoonery. Just listening to Andy's shrill voice is disturbing enough, but his ignorance and power help him ruin the state.

the “kids of color” that are admitted to elite Universities are essentially diversity mascots for the rich white kids that get in. We don’t want Jr. to feel guilty for taking advantage of all that ugly privilege.

I was scrolling through the channels recently, and a show on HLN caught my eye. It was an interesting story, but it was narrative by Cuomo.

What a dim bulb.
