Fair enough, I get it.

I was just looking forward to this competition, being a soccer fan can be hard enough on FR, having a couple of idiots ruin it like this makes it worse!

I respect the national team for the simple reason it is the national team...a shame to have players on it that don’t. I just don’t see another sport (in the USA) that is as unifying at the national level.

I would have loved to have watched the game and rooted for “our” team.But the unfortunate politicizing and the nasty comments just ruined it for me.

I am sick and tired of being judged and told I’m supposed to feel guilty and hate what I was born as for some unexplained reason. I don’t have white privilege, I don’t hate LGBT-whatever the rest of the letters are now, I try to live and let live, BUT I want laws to be followed and sorry ... I love Jesus. I wouldn’t expect the rest of the team to say much publicly. It wouldn’t make anything better, especially when it is one of the captains making the statements. That said...some are devout Christian’s.

With the help of the Refs.😂😂 As I previously stated, I slept through today’s match. But, tonight I saw a highlight of the old hag, Rapinoe, and other players dragging the US flag and stepping on it. One player had the decency to pick it off the ground. This “team” was absolutely despicable. Even fans of other nations were shocked at the desecration of the flag. How can any American support that?

I hear you, so do many. The accusation of “hate” is nothing short of projection. I don’t hate anyone, that doesn’t mean I don’t know there’s consequences to all kinds of behaviors. The militant left wants anyone that doesn’t embrace “pride” in such behaviors labeled as a hater. Which is over the top. Gay pride events are demanding that *anything* be celebrated, this is jumping the shark and I believe is starting to generate negativity, there’s still this thing called “morals” that most people agree with.

The “hater” term is already being over used. It’s like calling everyone “far right” or “Nazi”. If everyone is a Nazi then nobody is a Nazi. It becomes ineffective.

Christ will overcome because evil, by its very nature, can’t help itself. It must become ever more extreme and exposes its foolishness.

I think the frequency of posting shows how not interested they are.

I think that is a bit disingenuous. Who knows what has and hasn’t been said, accurately reported on, repeated, deliberately ignored, etc...you can’t track everything and actions speak louder. To me, there’s plenty of proud American’s on this team. All spoiled by, mainly, one player.

Perhaps you need to adjust your ‘expectations’ of who the President decides to respond to when they insult our country and our President.....as she did.

Further I’m certain people didn’t ‘expect’ her to use her position to air her political groans DURING a World Cup her team had not yet won. She went outside ‘the lane’ at a critical time for her team and with no thought to the consequences....nor concern of but putting herself in the limelight.

Have not dug that deep...MLS has so far to go revenue wise they could have 100% growth every year and still need 15 years to catch the NBA. I only see growth locally in youth soccer (parents thought is was less dangerous then American football...now there is the soccer concussion problem), and growth due to let’s say “recent immigrants from the Southern direction”. That is about it.
