POULTNEY, VT. For sale: Lightly used college campus complete with Greek revival buildings and a farm, sans livestock. In turnkey move-in condition with a biomass heating system and solar array for electric power.
Price on the 155-acre property is negotiable.
Its a beautiful campus. Its in impeccable shape, said Tony Blake, a Vermont real estate agent working with the Boston office of the Colliers International to sell the now-empty Green Mountain College.
Citing declining enrollment and rising costs, Green Mountain officials in January said this would be the last year in operation. The school closed in May after its final semester. With about 500 students, a limited endowment and heavy debt load, the schools trustees said they were simply running out of money... (more at linky)
So that will be Bernie’s “gift” when the Democrats get him to quit the presidential race.
They’ll convert them into condos, like they do with old churches.
Turn it into a minimum-security prison.
Hey - here is an opportunity to buy an entire campus on the cheap and create a REAL institute of higher learning, free of political correctness.
Really. Paging Don Jr. or someone similar...
Rush, Mark, Sean, Laura, Michelle, Tucker all have the kind of stash and (hopefully) principles necessary to get ‘er done.
Why not? That school will be busing at the seams with patriots!
So they taught all the Enviro womyn not to have kids (overpopulation!) and now...they don’t have any legacy students.
Hilarious.

Would be an opportunity for a conservative billionaire to purchase and turn into a beacon of conservative thought and action. Then again the President is preoccupied
Left-tards would rather commit suicide from overwhelming hubris than survive. Their days are numbered.
Gee, it must be rough to be a 50-something fat cat professor who lost his job and fat salary for teaching gender studies and critical feminism. I mean here you are, 50-something, with no marketable skills, a mountain of mortgage and consumer debt, and no prospects for returning to a high paid life of leisure — "Would you like fries with that?"
Ah, ANOTHER tuition free institution of higher learning emerges.
Just like The Beatnik Bern’s wife’s Burlington College...
I think one of the fathers of the USC payola kids went to GMC, at least for a while. William Macy, iirc.
[[Turn it into a minimum-security prison.]]
It already was a minimum security prison- complete4 with brainwashers posing as professors
Pretty place. I think their sustainability plans went off the tracks though.
Meanwhile, other places continue to build colleges but not sure why.
Higher education is a massive bubble, funding by high tuitions, government spending and massive student debt. It supports hundreds of thousands of highly reliable voters and ideologues for the left.
No mention of Jane Sanders who bankrupted the place.
From Wikipedia
“..In the late 1990s the college began to focus on environmental literacy and citizenship”
“GMC was home to an educational track known as the Progressive Program. Based on the ideas of philosopher John Dewey[13] and formed on a philosophy similar to that of Goddard College, a Vermont institution recognized for its dedication to progressive education..”
“Green Mountain College offered 23 undergraduate majors[10] GMC also offered the following graduate degrees: an MBA in Sustainable Business; MS in Environmental Studies; MS in Sustainable Food Systems; and MS in Resilient and Sustainable Communities”
“GMC was also named the Sierra Club’s #1 Cool School for 2018”
Once again - being a virue-signalling ideologue leftist apparently doesn’t work in the real world.
