British independent journalist Tommy Robinson has been found guilty of contempt of court for a second time over livestreaming outside a 2018 Pakistani grooming gang trial in Leeds.
The trial had been under a reporting restriction, but Robinsons lawyers argued that information was not available on the courts website at the time and that he attempted to find out if there was a ban four times before going to the courthouse.

Sounds like Tommy upset the Ministry of Truth.
I wonder if the same thing would happen here in the States with our 1st Amendment.
I wonder if the same thing would happen here in the States with our 1st Amendment.
That ok, the big social media companies here will quash it
Guys like Tommy Robinson, Julian Assauge, and others should NOT be forgotten.
If we don’t stand up and support them in any way that helps, we will all be worse off for it going forward.
The bulwark isn't the Amendment alone; it is adherence to the spirit of the Amendment.
Imagine most of the current Democratic hopefuls as President, with their appointed DOJ wingmen (as Eric Holder styled himself). Do you see them letting the 1st Amendment keep them in check? I don't. Obama was their pioneer, pointing the way to weaponization of government institutions.
Sure, it CAN happen if our people just roll over and pee on our bellies like scared puppies.
But that’s we have the 2nd Amendment - So we CAN say not just “No”, but “GFYourself Hell NO!” and back it up with lethal force.
No. Of course not. The constitution, or in this case, the Bill of Rights is “ a living changing document.”
Well said!
Sad day.
England is dead.
I like TR's politics, but it's my understanding that it's always against the law to report on trials in the UK until after they have ended.
ML/NJ
They are afraid of him.
Was there ever a doubt that the pompous guardians of the aristocrats would convict him?
He’s upsetting the apple cart. They have billions in oil money to keep in London, can’t have him scaring the customers. It’s all England has left. They don’t actually make anything anymore, you know?
You are correct. At times, we all (myself included) transpose politics onto a black and white law. The same thing happened (and is still referenced) here with the guy who made the YouTube video on Islam that the last administration tried to blame for Benghazi.
He was on federal supervision for an internet crime and was forbidden to use the internet, much less produce and post something as part of his sentence. He therefore violated the terms of his supervision. Were there politics? Yes, but he still violated the law and his supervision so if you separate the lies of Susan Rice and HRC from his own actions he is still guilty.
With that said, there is an undercurrent of censorship about Islam in the UK that is disturbing. It is the reason this story provokes such a reaction, but British law pertaining to media coverage of trials is not the same as it is here in the US. I looked into this when the story first broke. Tommy has increased his brand though and he is a bit of a firebrand so he likely has no regrets. I fully expect his “sentence” to be far harsher than it would otherwise be in the UK though due to “politics” and that is unfortunate.
Does not change the fact that the pattern (and repercussions) of their unchecked immigration is disastrous.
Not correct, at least by default. They can issue special “reporting restrictions”. These are trials that nobody can report on throughout the case, only until after things are complete can the media report on them.
...but here’s the rub. They’re *required* to post online what the restrictions are for a given case and post on the court board. They did neither. Tommy only showed up for sentencing, after verdicts, and only reported their names which was also available via the BBC - hence, already available in the public domain. Even though that exception is in their guidelines they’re now saying “no, that’s not true”. They moved the goalposts.
When they arrested him they put a gag order on his ARREST. Nobody in the UK was allowed to report it. Think about that. He wasn’t given the opportunity to plead guilty or not, face a jury, and within hours was put in prison - all under a gag order. This is Soviet Union and Stasi like actions. Secret courts, gag orders on arrests, and imprisonments for things nobody else would get prison time for. I don’t buy their “it’s for the integrity of the trial and to protect victims” - complete BS. This is about Islam and “maintaining community cohesion”. In other words, keep the masses ignorant about what is going on with Islamic rape gangs. Of course, who is going to care about some court case that nobody knew was ongoing, where the media really weren’t going to report on it much anyway? ...even after the fact.
Tommy is a political prisoner, there is no doubt about it. They know he’ll probably be killed in prison, they’re run by Muslim gangs that hate him. They make the meals, he gets comments of “hope that tastes good”. This entire thing is about shutting him up. He’s been exposing Islam for 15 years and it cannot be tolerated.
If he is killed in prison England will BURN. The establishment are too arrogant to realize, they believe the populace is too ignorant about what is going on - but they’re wrong, they’ve had enough and feel they’ve no representation. It’s a powder keg about to blow. This has nothing to do with “justice”.
Thanks for posting. This whole thing is making my blood boil.
...I’m not alone.
Star Chamber proceedings.
Supposedly, he didn’t release any information which wasn’t already publicly available. His lawyer stated that what he did is very common, and that he is being singled out because of his political leanings.
That I fully believe.
