I’ve seen quite a few in the millennial crowd say things like “everyone over age 75 should be put down, they don’t contribute anything.”

As a millennial, I've heard a lot of similar comments. And when you add the irrational hatred for baby boomers that many millennials have, it becomes clear that they will have no problem killing people en masse in ten+ years.

And before anyone says that they'll grow out of it, it should be pointed out that it's one thing to hold such views when you're a rebellious teenager or college student. It's quite another when you're in your mid 20s to 30s. (The oldest millennials are even approaching late 30s now.) Point is, for the most part, my generation is NOT growing out of its childish, leftist views. There are dark times ahead unless we act now.

Note these studies are all predicated on saving money and not on prolonging quality life. We have known for decades that early detection of many diseases like cancer can result in cure or at least extend life. Government funded bean counters, seem to think that most of us will be dead by our 80s anyway so why bother to screen for diseases in your 60s. These studies will be the basis of decisions by government death panels. I intend to continue with PSA tests and colonoscopies..the heck with these studies.

Even if you’ve had pre-cancer you’re told you should get a pap smear every 3yrs now instead of annually. Makes no sense.

As well you should but as in the case of my two elderly (89 & 91) aunts, surgeons (and dare I might claim butchers padding their IRAs) performed not one but even two complete removals of the breasts of those dear ladies, only one left the hospital, the other one, so harmed by the operations, passed away in less than 6 months!

Did those surgeries add 10+ years to 90 years old patients-nope they did not, the doctors never claimed it would but they “just had to cut out those cancers,” because they could!

Proving that years would or could most likely extend the life of guys in their 70s or even later, when fast growing prostate and bone cancer would vastly cut short healthy lives, is a good thing to go with, unless one chooses against treatments for their own reasons.

I seriously doubt that either of my aunties were asked if they wanted to proceed with those surgeries but surely at least one might have chosen against it she knew she’d not last a week!

They are all suddenly MBAs on the most effective way of distributing healthcare. They are collectivist azzholes and never seem to notice that all of their tools, procedures, tests, beautiful hospitals etc came about for one reason only....somebody decided they can make a buck.
That why we have something like 5 times more MRI machines per capita than most countries.

So it’s here, how do we get ahead of it, if we know where this ends? Why does our side always fight the battle when the mandated killing starts and it is engrained in the society, rather than predicting that 10 or 15 years from now the mandated killing will start are getting ahead of it before it becomes an entrenched policy.

Because when we talked about it here 15 years ago we were considered bat crazy.

Because they won't allow the tests to detect the illness in the first place.

Up until the PSA test, I felt perfectly healthy. In fact, I still feel fine—it’s common for prostate cancer to not show any symptoms. What bothered me a bit was the “life expectancy” bit. I’m 73 but my dad made it to 83, his dad to 86, his mom to 102 and my mom to 99.

During the last administration (spit) we were told that women were getting too many mammograms and men too many PSA tests. I figure the PSA test saved my life. When I got the cancer diagnosis, I decided either the cancer would kill me or I and my doctors would kill the cancer. If it’s God’s will, I’d like to hang around a bit longer.

...and I’m sorry for what your aunts went through. My mom’s doctor (and her health provider system) pretty much gave up on her, without telling her in so many words. It pissed her off. She was old and dying, but was by no means ready to go. She got her DL renewed at 98 and was still driving on the San Diego freeways up to a few months before she died.

When insurance cos tell people they won’t finance a treatment people go nuts. What will happen when its the government saying it?

I always tell people: nationalize health care and all you've done is turn the government into a huge insurance agency, and it will operate just like the ones we have now. We won't be 10 minutes into it before the politicians in charge of the budget say, "Wow, we've got to find a way to cut these costs, and quick..."

Have nationalized healthcare and before you can say “Dr Kildare” politicians will be behind the scenes, forming their inner party gold-plated” version or making sure family, friends, relations, mistresses, supporters, etc. have easy access to the front of the line. The rest of us will be stuck with DMV & post office service quality and care.
