Up until the PSA test, I felt perfectly healthy. In fact, I still feel fineit’s common for prostate cancer to not show any symptoms. What bothered me a bit was the “life expectancy” bit. I’m 73 but my dad made it to 83, his dad to 86, his mom to 102 and my mom to 99.
During the last administration (spit) we were told that women were getting too many mammograms and men too many PSA tests. I figure the PSA test saved my life. When I got the cancer diagnosis, I decided either the cancer would kill me or I and my doctors would kill the cancer. If it’s God’s will, I’d like to hang around a bit longer.
...and I’m sorry for what your aunts went through. My mom’s doctor (and her health provider system) pretty much gave up on her, without telling her in so many words. It pissed her off. She was old and dying, but was by no means ready to go. She got her DL renewed at 98 and was still driving on the San Diego freeways up to a few months before she died.
Accordingly, Moses lived to 120 and thats what Im aiming for! You go and do likewise!
