I also dragged family members to see Aladdin. Mostly they went to get out of the heat. I really enjoyed it — some of it had a Bollywood vibe that I enjoyed. And some good points about honesty and friendship.

Danny Boyle is a lot (not stylistically) like Tim Burton: they don’t always make good movies, but they are usually interesting. They both at least try to be original and bring an auteur perspective to their film.

Only film I’ve seen in a long while is “Apollo 11”. Great film about a great flight that was a great success. It was all about the flight with little to no political message. We need more films like it.
Actually, I work for Funimation here. There is only ONE lead writer (who translates from J to English) and he’s a good bud of mine. The voice actors are a mix of libs and libertarians.
