Actually pitched on Saturday, but close enough... just got married over the last off season. No word about an accident, injury (doubtful), or disease... that doesn’t leave very many possible conclusions, and nobody’s talking about any details yet.

In 2002 Cardinals pitcher Darryl Kile passed this same way. He died of a heart attack in his sleep. Albert Pujols was on that team also.

Darryl Kile of the Cardinals died a few years ago in his hotel room.
He had a heart attack at 33.
I'll guess that Skaggs had a congenital heart defect or used some kind of illicit substance.
27 is very young to die from coronary artery disease.

The Angels issued a statement saying, "It is with great sorrow that we report Tyler Skaggs passed away earlier today in Texas."
"Tyler has, and always will be, an important part of the Angels Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Carli and his entire family during this devastating time."
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred has released a statement, saying "I am deeply saddened by todays tragedy in Texas. All of us at Major League Baseball extend our deepest condolences to Tylers wife Carli, their family, their friends and all of his Angels teammates and colleagues."
"We will support the Angels organization through this most difficult period, and we will make a variety of resources available to Tylers teammates and other members of the baseball family.

Unusual but natural. I had a recruit die during pt when I was a drill instructor. He was 19 or 20. It was several weeks into boot camp. He had a heart defect that was undetected. So those saying it was some illicit drug should probably wait till the autopsy is done.

One of 7452 other Americans that will die today. RIP to all of them.
