A friend who was a lifeguard way back said illegals and the poor use public pools as their bath/shower/toilet, and was so bad in the summer that the health department routinely had pools closed, drained, and refilled due to sewer-level fecal coliform counts.

Public pool??? You are swimming in everyones ass juice, and a few dirty soiled poop filled diapers. Public swimming pools ARE public toilets.

Given the level of public health awareness today I can’t imagine swimming in a municipal or other pool open to the unwashed public.
Sorry, give me an old fashioned swimming hole first. I grew up swimming in farm ponds and country rivers, and never had a sick day once in decades of summers.

Though there is no such thing as a urine-detecting dye, you can purchase signs that prey upon the misconception that a urine indicator exists. The signs, which warn the pool is being monitored with a chemical “wee alert,” are believed to be an effective deterrent against urination in a pool, particularly with adult swimmers.

And FRiends, while we’re at remember ‘’jmacusa’s’’ number 1 rule when it comes to objects that fall to Earth from space: NEVER, EVER poke ANYTHING from space with a stick. Don’t believe me?
