A friend who was a lifeguard way back said illegals and the poor use public pools as their bath/shower/toilet, and was so bad in the summer that the health department routinely had pools closed, drained, and refilled due to sewer-level fecal coliform counts.

Those are also the people who always show up to the in-ground fountain areas that squirt streams of water - and from what I’ve heard, that water recirculates - disgusting. This is why we can’t have nice things.
