Glastonbury revellers slam 'disgusting' amounts of rubbish that are piling up [tr]

Glastonbury revellers are trudging through fields awash with litter as the progressive festival's eco-plan for music lovers to 'leave no trace' begins to unravel on the event's final day. Last night, festival-goers slammed the Somerset farm site as 'disgusting' and shamed their fellow attendees for chucking rubbish to the ground - sometimes just metres away from a bin. The crowds were also accused of ignoring Glastonbury's hard-hitting climate campaign which had asked every reveller to take its Green Pledge and vow not to drop waste. The oath includes the lines 'I will use the recycling bins correctly and not drop litter on the ground' and 'I will bag up my rubbish in the bin bag'.

Ah, the left.
Takes a sh*t on everything they see, hear, think, and touch.
Are we coming to the logical conclusion of what to do about them yet?

To make it interesting to me at least they should have intermixed some rappers to draw more than the white scruffs.

chucking rubbish to the ground - sometimes just metres away from a bin.

I see it all the time at the softball diamonds my group of seniors play at. Dugouts littered with plastic water bottles literally just feet away from the trash barrels.......

I live not far from a landfill. I’m not a tree hugger or earth first kind of guy, but I think it’s pretty astounding how much waste we bury each day. Just the amount personally that I throw away.

I don't doubt that the mess is coming in part from hypocritical environmentalists.

But the story chats up long queues for water and closed showers. Is it hard to believe that waste removal was also lacking, even though the reporter mentions one or two waste bins near litter? I bet a comprehensive report would show the organizers simply dropped the ball on food, water, and trash removal, and attendees followed suit.

I also suspect a goodly portion of the litterbugs may be protesting this Big Brother approach to environmentalism...signing a Green pledge to get tickets? Really? And then that Green sign...it looks like Antifa and Che mixed together:

The youth of the world may be susceptible to environmentalism, but they also tend to be very clever in rebelling against authority. I wouldn't be surprised if a meaningfully large percentage of the trash is coming from kids who are mad as hell and are not going to take it anymore.

If they come home, burn their DNC membership, and start living the life of a Deplorable then it was worth it.

Glastonbury is a unique town. I have never seen so many good people and so many dark evil people in one place. They have a big wiccan clan there.

Been there many times, but never for their big music festival...

You just do not understand the leftists mind. It is disingenous, first and foremost. As is their stance on the environment. Besides, it is much easier to wear green, than to actually clean up after ones self.

Leftists are all about abstract planning. Never implementation.

The promoters/organizers/folks who will profit nicely from this deserve some of the blame

The planning left much tp be desired.

each year the promoters hire a large crew of locals to police up the 'rubbish'

they spend around 750,000 pounds (UK) for the clean up.
