Elton John slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin for being hypocritical on LGBT issues after Kremlin distributors censored Rocketman, a recent biopic about the singer-songwriter's life and career throughout the years.
In an interview with the Financial Times, published Thursday, Putin declared that Russia had "no problem with LGBT persons." A day later, John took to social media to call out Putin's comments as hypocritical. In a statement shared to Twitter, the 72-year-old musician condemned the Russian leader for allowing distributors in his country to censor LGBT-scenes in Rocketman.
"Dear President Putin, I was deeply upset when I read your recent interview in The Financial Times," John wrote. "I strongly disagree with your view that pursuing policies that embrace multicultural and sexual diversity are obsolete in our societies."

I was really bored the other night and fired up Rocketman. It was so boring I shut it down. Lousey movie.
I liked Bohemian Rhapsody.
I will NOT be seeing Rocketman.
Also I liked that Elton is now 28 years sober. If he had not totally reigned it in when he did, I think he would have died young.
Nope, they showed his drug and alcohol issues to be his downfall.
There is a very uncomfortable scene of him and his manager/lover, being touted as the first explicit gay scene in a main stream movie...or some words to that effect.
I actually liked the movie but cringed at the sex scene.
I’d rather have a root canal than to see a story on sick Elton John.

Sorry, he became a card carrying homo the minute he passionately kissed a guy. The presence of a camera doesn’t change that. Same for those Broke Back Mountain guys.
They are now homo, and that’s just how it is.

I enjoyed the music, but the overwhelming focus on his being gay really detracted from the movie. To me it was the ONLY thing that the movie focused on. Nearly every scene was about his gayness. But the music WAS great.
That’s basically how people become homosexuals.

Yes dancing in my seat...I do feel I understand the music beter now, and believe me I had to look away couple times. The theater was incredible especially the sound system. Would have prefered to see Putin’s version.

I guess there was some controversy from the gay community regarding non homosexuals playing homosexuals...they are not in favor. Interesting.
Nice try snowflake. No, a raped 9 year old isn’t homo. A man voluntarily passionately kissing a man is a homo.
