I'm not sure about the current generation of Japanese, but the postwar experience gave at least the boomer generation (and their parents) a very healthy distrust of big government. So much money was withdrawn when the government discussed assigning social security number equivalents to each citizen that they almost immediately backed off. This was back in the 1980s.
Getting tracked by corporations, OTOH, is something they have a LOT more tolerance for . . .

This is yuuuuge cuz using Line in Japan and Korea is maybe more common than placing telephone calls or texting.
This is going to cause great outrage.

its important to note that Line stresses Line Score is opt-in only and that the company will never share a users Line Score with third parties without the users permission and it will not read a users online chats to determine their Line Score.Oh, of COURSE not. Who would even think of such a thing?

"...Line Score is opt-in only and that the company will never share a users Line Score..... Yeah, I believe that with all my heart.
And I also believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and that 0bamacare will save me $2500 a year.

Even though we here use this platform as a social media forum to discuss; we are generally well behaved as a group.
Facebook and other formats are not so civil. My point is the Internet was a great leap in technology progress but there’s a dirty side to it in some social media platforms.
Not FR; but definitely some others.
