Brief review: YESTERDAY Cliché rom-com, carried by the timeless music of The Beatles. Reminds you of the magic of the fab-four, and what made them legends

The premise of the film is interesting: following a 12 second world-wide electricity blackout nobody can remember who The Beatles are. Except one guy aspiring but so far unsuccessful musician.

And when he realizes the predicament he is in, this rather mediocre singer/guitarist unleashes the entire Beatles discography on the world, passing it off as his own work.

The genius of Lennon/McCartney songwriting duo, and Harrison’s of course, is all there in the lyrics, but it is missing those magical Beatles harmonies, Ringo’s drums, George Martin’s production, etc. Makes you appreciate how great The Beatles were as a collective

Makes you wonder though how many of the Beatles hits would be hits if they were released today. Part of what made them so successful was being pioneers in so many genres that today we just take for granted. But they didn’t exist in 1963.

And not only the genres but the unique and creative ways they recorded their music when the only technology was analog tape.

None of that would be considered groundbreaking in today’s digital world of computers where anything is a mouse click away.

Trump is doing exactly what we hired him to do. Destroying the NWO was part of his mandate. He is doing it without the use of the army or war. The common people are now seeing what a strong leader looks like. The best thing about Trump is the trickle down effect on other nations.

FREE CANNING JARS?

Have you ever noticed that Classico brand tomato sauce comes in Atlas or Ball style screw top jars?

For years we have canned in reused Classico jars.
They work just fine and we have never had a problem with breakage.
Think about it - they have already gone through the canning process once in the factory.

Just like other jars we check them for cracks or chips before reusing.

We don’t buy much prepared sauce from the store but have managed to collect many dozens of Classico jars over the years - maybe about 20-25 dozen.

I would collect more but we are out of room to store any more canned food and empty jars!

Get them from any friends or relatives who use Classico sauces.
If they buy a different brand talk them into trying Classico.

If I saw someone in the neighborhood store buying more than one or two jars of Classico sauce I tried to strike up a conversation and see if they were willing to save their empty jars for us.

You might be surprised how often that works!
Many people are happy to help out and like the idea of something being reused instead of just thrown in the land fill.

Remember deposit bottles - soda and beer?

Small bottles 2¢, quart bottles 5¢ - and that's when having 5¢ was a big deal!

You could get a full size candy bar for a nickle!
The local corner store sold small bottles of Coca-Cola for 7¢!
And no taxes on either one!

Heck! Our generation was recycling before recycling was cool!

It’s a beautiful day here in So Oregon. Presently 70 going for a high of 80.
Headed to the Fairgrounds/Speedway for an afternoon/evening of NASCAR Motocross racing with my boys and grandson. Thanking God Grandson is becoming a fine young man!
