Agree. Highly recommend getting the audio CD (local library) of the novel 1776 by David McCullough.
It highlights the first year when Washington was a general. He made many mistakes, but he learned. And he had tremendous persistence.
With the 1776 you get a broad perspective of the people and combatants in the Revolutionary War. I think every high school student should listen to that book for their “America training”.
McCullough is an excellent writer.
