LEBANON, Indiana -- Two grandparents went into defensive mode when a man tried to kidnap their 6-year-old granddaughter in their own home.
Police say the man broke into an apartment in Indiana and claimed their granddaughter was actually his daughter.
Benjamin Dillon, 37, was arrested by officers, but not before the girl's grandparents could get their hands on him.
A mugshot of Dillon shows multiple bruises and scrapes on his face.
Police said the girl and her grandmother were sleeping in the back bedroom when Dillion broke into their apartment.
The woman who lives at the home called police as her husband tried to get the man out of the apartment. When police showed up, they say Dillion threatened officers and tried to fight them.
Lebanon police say Dillion faces multiple charges, including counts of burglary, intimidation and resisting law enforcement.

The idiot should have knocked, explained who he was and what he thought and asked if he could meet his daughter.

Now even if he is the dad he has shot himself in the foot already.

It ain’t pretty, but THIS is what happens, and what you can expect a whole lot more of, when Law Enforcement is told to stand down by “liberal” politicians, goofy rulings by the judiciary etc. Didn’t say I liked it, history is clear on this.
Sooner or later the pendulum always starts swingin’ the other way. Might not seem like it these days, but it will. When it does, watch out.

Nice joke, but in real life NEVER admit to having shot someone on a recorded 911 call.
Simply say “There is a man with gunshot injuries. Please send police and ambulance”. Then SHUT UP until you talk to your lawyer, regardless of if this seems a totally justified shooting.
If they could have just went ahead and shot him in between he eyes they would have done society a big favor.
