A Florida woman was tired of feeling like a prisoner inside her own home, thanks to a pesky coyote.
We have a coyote who visits our property every night, begins Alkemas post. I admit I feel trapped inside my house from dusk to dawn.
This evening, I placed a camera on the ground near the path of the coyote to see which direction he is entering our property from. I certainly did not expect THIS response.
The video illustrates why her response was, um, unexpected.
The grainy black and white clip shows the animal, its giant snout in plain view, sniffing at the camera. Suddenly, it turns around, then raises its leg and urinates, drenching the camera lens and marking its territory.

Animals fitting Florida People.
Coyotes are pests that should be shot.
They should be removed.
Well, there is a way to resolve this problem.
Silly woman. A camera is not going to make him go away. There is a way to put an end to it but you won’t like it.
Our cat accidentally got outside 6 months ago and the coyotes got him - I have since live trapped two and relocated them - to coyote heaven.
Must have been an Acme camera.
Hamburger and antifreeze will fix him right up.
Same here. RIP.
Can’t shoot here.
I once had a hunting lease on 4800 acres of corn near the Red River in NE Texas. There were a lot of coyotes around and I asked the owner of the land if they bothered him. He told me that they like the coyotes because they chased the pigs out of the fields so I guess for some places they are beneficial.
Why isn’t the Wildlife Center responding and removing the animal?
Can’t she maybe put out some poisoned food to kill it?
She probably couldn’t manage to shoot it, and she would get into trouble for discharging a firearm.
We’re overrun with em, and I’m not bashful or ashamed to say that I’ve outright shot & killed at least 15 of the SOBs over the past few months.
FWIW, our neighbor’s cat was swiped right off their patio while they were sitting out there enjoying the sunset. It happened right in front of em! Yep, a coyote on a dead run, jumped up the patio, snatched the cat and was gone with it in a matter of seconds.
The only good one is a dead one.
Coyotes are dangerous pests.

The Doberman mentioned belongs to one of the members of a FB Dobe group I am in.
Carry a flashlight and make lots of noise.
That’ll stop ‘em.
Ugh
The United States of America: Blessed in abundance, cursed through stupidity.
Was that an ACME camera ?
So sorry for your loss.
Not ACME.
Ack! Pee!
