Theres a recurring complaint with King County Metro customers: The buses or bus stops smell of human waste. And some customers are losing their patience, sometimes unfairly.
Either you have a serial dumper or no one did anything to address this, one customer complained. Sick of it. Clean this [expletive] up, literally.
As a frequent bus user, Ive experienced some of the same observations on routes 70 and 8. The bus or bus stop can sometimes smell as if its been used as a toilet.
KTTH and MyNorthwest, through a public disclosure request, poured through over 15,000 complaints filed with Metro online throughout all of 2018, and we noticed a trend. Its almost assuredly a direct consequence of a regions out of control homelessness which Metro isnt remotely responsible for.
One complaint said the stench near a bus stop of the Rapid Ride E, at South Washington Street between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue, was so bad, a bus rider literally gagged.(snip)
One user felt scared in downtown Seattle where they constantly deal with aggressive panhandlers. It was not the users first complaint(snip)
In Wallingford, a rider complained that the bus stop is disgusting due to human waste and garbage that hasnt been cleaned for days.(snip)
...Ive routinely seen bus drivers let homeless people on the bus without paying or showing a pass, usually (and understandably) to avoid a tense showdown that makes the already-late bus even more tardy to their next stop.
Some of these homeless individuals are clearly causing the stench on board and, rather than getting help, City and County leaders keep them in an unhealthy state, while ruining the Metro experience.

Well, they need the $#!+ cleaned up, and they have a bunch of unemployed homeless.
Round ‘em up. Put ‘em in prison orange jumpsuits, and make them clean it up. At the end of a 10 hour day, take back the jumpsuits for laundering and pay ‘em them half their wages. Give the other half to the homeless shelter you drop them off at.
Be waiting for them the next morning.
Wanna bet the homeless population drops precipitously?
Ha Ha Ha!!!!!
I sometimes ride the train from North Springs to the Airport. It isn’t so bad.
By contrast in Texas: https://cbsaustin.com/news/local/gov-abbott-warns-if-homeless-allowed-to-camp-in-austin-streets-lawmakers-will-step-in
Sometimes unfairly? Sometimes unfairly? if someone is incontinent of bowel and someone complains (an elderly or baby) or a colostomy bag breaks, that is one thing.
There isn't a thing "unfair" about complaining about a homeless person taking a dump or pee in a public place.
Their Chitty Council should be tarred and feathered but the voters deserve the sewage of leftism they vote for. Change your stupidity voters or live with the shitz and smells.
There are no public toilets. They don’t have a home, with toilets. Public buildings are closed at night.
American society has deteriorated so much that public toilets are not possible: they would be used for gay meetings, drug shooting up, sex, and all kinds of other unimaginable acts. They would become horrible, filthy messes within 1 hour of being cleaned up because people don’t take care of things that they don’t own.
Fix those problems and we’ll have clean streets again. (Lots of luck!)
Not homeless, but 95% drug addicted criminals being dumped on the local citizens’ doorstep.
Last time I rode Marta I swore if I got off alive would NEVER do it again.
To get it, liberals have to have their nose rubbed in liberalism. These people are on step one.
You couldn’t be more correct. The homeless problem in Seattle is huge and they have been trying to create camps for them all over the sound with expected failure as the neighborhoods they go into chase them out even in court.
I was recently in San Francisco and saw the same thing as they even had tents in the middle of freeways against the fences near the airport. If you take two giant front end loaders and scoop up San Francisco and Seattle and trade them, no one would know the difference.

I wish Trump could do something about it, but he really can’t. This is a state problem they created with this liberal approach in King County that doesn’t have to put up with it as they are too ritzy for the homeless. Until Washington State, basically King County, figures out that their better than Godly approach to reality isn’t working, it is going to continue.
But you think the waste problem is so bad, the state has even built rooms in different places so drug users can use it in a safer location for them and the ones they abuse. The city comes in in the morning, hoses them out, they’re ready for the next shift.
Thought I was “fake newsing” it, didn’t you? I don’t blame you as this is so stupid, it is hard to believe.

I visited a couple years later, I actually thought the area was so incredible, I considered moving there.
Now I will never even visit again.
The politicians live in better neighborhoods and quietly ban the homeless. They also have taxpayer paid for cars so they do not have to travel with the riff raff. In short they do not care about your complaints.
Seattle is just catching up with Los Angeles,as the say in LA what LA does the country does.
The wake up aroma has arrived time to ban liberalism even more.
I’d be willing to bet that the people who got voted into office by tugging on the heartstrings of those who want to help the homeless don’t ride the metro or live in neighborhoods where the homeless are allowed to poop and pee on the streets.
Heres an idea! Move to my state of VA and bring those shi&&y voting habits of yours with you! Were blue now so if we get a little bluer we too can enjoy the stench of human waste!!!

I rode the NY subway when Giuliani was mayor and had cleaned up the city. I was astounded by how safe and clean the subway cars and stations were. I will bet that all fell apart quickly after Mayor Giuliani left.
It CAN be done. It just takes will and tough love. Liberals ruin everything they touch.
