Tiffani Adams said she fell asleep while flying from Quebec to Toronto on 9 June. When she woke up, she was freezing cold and still buckled into her seat, but the aircraft was parked.
Ms Adams managed to call her friend Deanna Dale to let her know where she was when her phone died less than a minute into the call.
She was unable to charge her phone as the plane had been shut down.
Ms Dale called Toronto Pearson Airport and told them of Ms Adams' whereabouts.
While she was on board, Ms Adams managed to locate a torch in the cockpit of the plane and attempted to attract attention.
She was found by a luggage cart operator...
Ms Adams said that Air Canada staff offered her a limousine and a hotel but she declined, wanting to return home as quickly as possible.
Air Canada confirmed Ms Adams' account to multiple publications and said it was reviewing the incident.

Sounds like a set up. Not one of her seatmates woke her up. Not one flight attendant noticed her. Not one maintenance person vacuumed over her. Bet she was hiding in the restroom or somewhere.
Yes, they do and the cleaning crew get in there fast because planes must have a quick turn around for the next flight. The company loses money every minute a plane is parked.
You want to be on a plane that had the cockpit left open for anyone to come in and tinker with a knob or two?

This was my first thought. It seems very unlikely the maintenance workers could miss a person buckled into a seat, but much more possible that someone could deliberately find a place to actively hide from them.
Given the likelihood of a lawsuit/settlement, there certainly was a motive for the woman to stage this incident.
Plus Quebec to Toronto is a fairly short flight, just a little longer than Boston to DC or a little shorter than Minneapolis to Detroit.
I don’t know, I could sleep through an artillery strike but a footstep on carpet will wake me up. It all depends on what you’re used to.

Depends on the airlines. My mother suffered from memory loss at that time and was flying from my area, Seattle, to Spokane back to her home with my sister. Her illness wasn’t that bad as she occasionally wasn’t aware of the things around her. She was not bad enough not to handle an hour flight and my sister was waiting for her at Spokane. When she didn’t get off the aircraft, my sister called me and I told her she got on it as I was standing there watching. And the flight crew told me she was situated and comfortable.
My sister had them go back on to an empty aircraft and there she was, sipping a soft drink happy as a clam, no one around.
I had visions of Jerry Lewis as the bellboy as she was a small aircraft pilot when she had her facilities.

i Could be mistaken, but, when I’ve had the great fortune to get the aft-most seat and am the last to deplane, the fought attendants are gone and only the cleaning crew is working on the plane.
Going from ancient memories here, so I could be mistaken. Or perhaps rules have changed to require a flight attendant to be last off.
The higher-value flight attendants need to get to their next aircraft or get to sleep.
I agree, sounds like a set up.
I’ve heard several stories where a child is found in a parked school bus and the driver didn’t notice when he parked the bus for the night.
That is on the driver as he is an adult and should be responsible for the children in his care.
An adult falling into such a deep sleep that they didn’t notice all the commotion on landing is possible, but that no one else noticed her( passengers, crew, cleaners etc.)
seems a bit much.
Also her phone having just enough of a charge to call a friend(future witness) is a bit odd.
Sounds more like she had a plan to hide, have a friend call then complain about her (night terrors) so a jury rewards her “big time”.
I believe that the cockpit is only locked in flight. No reason for it to be locked on a grounded craft. No..the ones at fault here are the "stews" who are supposed to check the craft CAREFULLY after landing.
I call BS.

Wow! Good thing the flight crew didn't leave the keys in the ignition or she could have stolen the plane.
You don't seem to be able to imagine that the lady here may have been on the last leg of multiple flights.
For all we know, this one-and-a-half hour flight might have been the last one on her way home from, say, Mumbia, India.
She may have thus been in an extreme state of sleep deprivation even before boarding this last plane.
Heck: She may have simply had a rotten night prior to her flight, had a bad cold, taken cold medicine, etc.
There is no need to begin speculating that something "fishy" must be going on with this woman.
