Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that even I can see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country. People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced theyve never seen prosperity, and as a result, elect politicians dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism.
Why? The answer is this: My generation has ONLY seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didnt live in the Great Depression, or live through two world wars, or see the rise and fall of socialism and communism. We dont know what its like to live without the internet and smartphones. We dont have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and its spreading like a plague.

Their problem is they don't have any real problems and it is stunting their growth. Humans are not made to be carried around on velvet cushions and fed on fine cream at all times.
We need to be dirty, sweaty and hungry sometimes. We need problems. And if our environment does not provide them we will invent them.
That is their problem. They have no real problems to solve so they must come up with imaginary ones that have no solutions.
But unsolvable problems create their own particular type of stress. And they make you unhappy because there is nothing you can do about them.
Well, he hasn't seen prosperity as I saw it as kid in Manhattan, were the drunks could roll out of bed in the morning and stagger off to find a day job in the garment district or a construction site and get paid enough to get an SRO in the Bowery.
So even old alcoholics could afford to live in the most expensive city in the world and not sleep in the streets.
That's how valuable American labor was.
