Well according to Box Office Mojo this morning the recent Shaft movie starring Free Republic Fan Favorite Samuel L. Jackson BOMBED at the Box Office over the weekend.
Total Domestic Gross $8.3 Million. What a huge disappointment for the studio.
Well, I did my part to make sure that this week’s crop of “reimaginings” were met with empty seats. One of the cable stations showed the REAL “Men in Black”, so I watched that instead of wasting money on “SJW Bitches in Black” in the theaters. Just noticed that TCM is showing the REAL “Shaft” on the 25th. DVR has been set.
The kiddies can have the PC/SJW versions with lots of CGI crap. I’ll stick with the originals.
Wow, did not realize there was also “Shaft’s Big Score,” “Shaft in Africa” and a Shaft TV show with 7 episodes - all with Richard Roundtree. Looks like I gotta catch up, you dig?
What movie was DeNiro “great” in? He’s played the same character in every movie I’ve seen him in.
OJ was available. Shoulda plugged him in as the new Shaft.
Oh, and OJ has a Twitter account now.
I’m waiting for the White Black Panther reboot.
Here’s hoping he’s so upset about the racism that caused the film to fail that he gets drunk and strokes out.

The remake didn't have a cast that could improvise out of a similarly awful script, and the actors who can do that are hard to come by.

If I were driving along a secondary road and Samuel L. Jackson was in the crossing zone and stepped off the curb in front of me, my brakes would fail.
Samuel L. Jackson is nothing but a black racist who HATES WHITE PEOPLE and he’s not been afraid to openly proclaim it.
The reality is all of those “white people” he hates have wised up and no longer have any intention of giving their hard earned money to a black racist actor who hates THEM, but still wants THEIR MONEY.
Can’t stand the guy, and boycott everything he’s in or promoting.

Wife and I saw Godzilla yesterday. It was refreshing to see alpha male good guys, and radical environmentalists as bad guys.
I don't know that "great actors" are the answer. IMO, the great movie stars were primarily great personalities. Actors like John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, Gary Cooper, Clint Eastwood, et al were good actors, but they played roles tailored to their onscreen personas. They were stars when Hollywood made movies about self-assured manly heroes.
Unfortunately for Samuel L Jackson, his onscreen persona is that of an asshole who never stops talking in the same repetitive speech pattern. I liked him in a few movies, Like Pulp Fiction and The Long Kiss Goodnight, but I am tired of him. I had no idea he had done another Shaft movie.
