Not long after learning his son Lonzo Ball will be part of a blockbuster trade for Anthony Davis, LaVar Ball made his thoughts clear on what he felt the Los Angeles Lakers had just agreed to do.
"I guarantee: Like I say again, it will be the worst move the Lakers ever did in their life and they will never win another championship," LaVar Ball told ESPN while at the Drew League on Saturday to watch his son LaMelo play. "Guarantee it.
"They're going to regret it. I'm going to have fun with it. Because I told you all, it was crashing down. Now [the Lakers] completely crashed, but at least my son got off the boat before the thing exploded. I gave them a chance. You can rewind it and go back. I said if you get the three Ball brothers, you can survive this. You let him go, oh, it's going to be a cold day in hell. Trust and believe that."
Lonzo Ball, LiAngelo Ball and LaVar Ball were all at the Drew League to watch the youngest Ball play not long after sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans had agreed to a deal to send Lonzo, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round draft picks -- including this year's No. 4 overall selection -- in exchange for Davis.

I tend to agree...within six weeks, some deal will be made to ship Lonzo on. My guess is that it’ll be the Wizards or Knicks. Course, dad won’t be leaving the LA area and maybe this is a blessing because Lonzo will get an entire season without any hype by dad.
A lot of this hype was simply to build up their sports fashion and tennis shoe empire, which is marginally making money.
Like a train wreck: draws eyeballs to ESPN.
Why does anyone give this clown airtime? What exactly makes him important?
Where’s the diversity???
They can go visit Castro’s kid in Canada.
LaVar Ball makes LaBron look sane...
Whatever it takes to get papa out of here.
Somehow losing a man the size of a two guard that averaged less than 10 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and shot less than 50% from the line in an average of 30 minutes a night, playing for a team that finished out of the playoffs at four games under .500, doesn’t seem to be a huge loss. I guess the new “star” system in sports is really forgiving.

But now daddy can sell his “BigBallerBrand” shoes in New Orleans!
Best thing from the Lakers standpoint may be that the LaVar Ball clown show will be leaving town for New Orleans. LaVar can have his own float in the next Mardis Gras parade. He’ll fit right in.
He’s guaranteed to make outrageous quotes so, of course, the media will ask him and record his comments. Daddy Ball thinks we should genuflect before his sons. He’s upset on the potential loss of marketing revenue leaving LA for New Orleans. Lakers adding The Unibrow to LeBRAWWWWWN isn’t going to win any titles.
I don’t know what the Lakers may be thinking relative to LeBron. But he’s “Basketball Old” yet still a drawing card. I think that they could quietly ‘shop him’ and still get a decent deal for some players to put around AD.
He is actually damaging the appeal that fans might have for his son.
Maybe the Lakers sent this kid as far away from the father’s presence in Los Angeles as possible.
Yes indeed. His fiasco in the European League ruined his sons possibilities
