I would recommend “The Americans”. The full series is available on Amazon Prime.
It is about a couple who are deep cover Soviet spies in Washington D.C. in the eighties. It is one of my favorite series that I have watched streaming. Great acting, great characters, and really riveting stories.
That was a great show.
“The Americans,” is excellent. Right now I’m hooked on “Turn: Washington’s Spies” on Netflix, a dramatization of the Culper spy ring during the American Revolution. It’s very well done, and has several quite overt references to the confiscation of private firearms and the consequences thereof.
Loved the Americans. Wife is Russian ex-pat and I tease her that she is a deep cover spy that failed because she chose me as her target. Also starting to get into Hanna on Amazon Prime. Loved the movie.
The Americans was very good, although I really wanted to see Elizabeth’s face when the Soviet Union collapsed and the Berlin Wall came down. She was such a dead ender.
It’s excellent.
Protagonists or not, right there, both of them, and the commie indoctrinated daughter too, with finality and extreme prejudice, and redemption for Stan, too, for being so late to figure things out...
But, it was what it was...
Also "Turn" was excellent... Major Hewlett was the coolest character of all in the end, followed by Whatshername, Heather Lind's character.
Honorable mention for bravery goes to Major Andre, even though he was a redcoat. And speaking of a tough job, how does any actor play George Washington and do him justice?
Haven't seen any of these other programs, might look for them on Prime.
