Our 'Greeneyes' has been FOUND, but she is STILL having computer issues, so I have been asked to keep the Weekly Garden Thread rolling until she returns.
That said, I will be posting once a week, and I will TRY to stick to her schedule of a Friday Night/Saturday Morning Weekly Post, but it depends upon what is going on here at MY farm. (It's Spring; it's BUSY!)
The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks. No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table Recipes, Preserving, Good Living - there is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to Gardeners are welcomed any time!

It is unbelievably COLD up north this last week. High temps in the 50’s some days! Hopefully we get some heat soon so the gardens will grow.

Score! My rhubarb really took a hit with all of the wet weather. She is NOT happy! I pulled away all the mulch, hoping she’ll dry out a bit and not end up with root rot. :(

Hi Diana,
I'm having trouble identifying this plant that has appeared in my garden this year. Lovely white star-like seed/stem (?) things, almost like fireworks. It's doing quite well even with the rain, making me think it must be a weed or some invasive species, but it's possible it's a leftover from many years past when a prior resident was gardening, and has decided to make a reappearance. Any idea what this could be? If you don't know, could you possibly ping folks who might? Thanks!!

Pretty sure that’s ‘Goat’s Beard’ or ‘Aruncus dioicus.’

It’s very pretty in a shady spot. Also, check out Astilbe if you’re not familiar. Similar look, different genus, and GORGEOUS COLOR for shade, with nice foliage, too. :)

My pleasure! I love it when I can put my education to use for others. :)
My brain holds ‘plant factoids’ like other’s holds every. baseball. statistic. ever. EVER! ;)

All are very cute - and TRUE! With all of this rain, I’ve had to mow every FOUR DAYS. It’s insane!
