I know what youre thinking: I hope someday there will be a really scary and easy way to create fake videos and misinformationin which it appears that people are saying words that they never originally said.
Rest assured, this Philip K. Dick dystopian nightmare is now a reality.
Scientists from Stanford University, the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, Princeton University and Adobe Research have developed a software that will allow you to edit and change what people are saying in videosand pull it off to create a realistic-looking fake.

And it kind of makes you wonder. Scientists from a number of prestigious institutions are working on this. Why? How could this research possibly benefit society?
Their software can only cause trouble. So again, why?
It's like having a bunch of scientists hellbent on creating a GMO crop for the sole purpose of causing cancer.
Why are they researching it? Because someone is paying them to research it. It is great for psyops.
How is this a problem? The Brown Shirt Media has been doing this for decades!
It is abusive. Yet, it would be kinda cool to see a video of a wannabe caliphate imam telling his flock to kill each other.
Here is the problem, IMHO. It is imminently appropriate to fool Hitler with the Patton Ghost Army and a massive disinformation campaign to deter defense of the actual invasion. It is appropriate because Ike didnt give a damn about what Adolph thought of his integrity, Ikes plan was to ultimately kill Hitler so he didnt particularly give a gd what Adolph thought of him.
To gaslight your own people repeatedly for decades will necessarily result in an inexorable nasty end but our CIA and FBI and DOJ dont seem to get that. Ultimately the people they claim to be doing it for are simply not going to put up with it any longer. Destroying the city to save it may be fine in a foreign country but destroying the country we friggin LIVE in is gonna be a losing strategy in the end and IMHO the end is coming at us fast here.
I just found out they are using AI for much more than this.
Right now, they require people to scan the internet for key words and thought.
Now they are using computers to scan the internet and blocking sites which disagree with their message.
The failure rate is high right now but they are pouring millions into getting to work correctly.
All for the purpose of controlling the message.
Excellent analogy
I knew this would happen after that Star Trek episode with John Gil.
Great post.
I think about that episode quite a lot.
Bottom line is if Barr doesnt get off his ass soon it is gonna be the END of the Federal Government of the USA. Pretty sure I even heard Rush say as much yesterday.
So when embarrassed by video of crap 0bama and Hillary actually said they can claim its fake.
Grant money? If you ever think scientists really are workung on things that will benefit your family, remember Mengle. If you are associated with a group someone powerful hates... say Google’s clear hatred of Christians (funny how it isn’t other religions).. the scientists would just as soon use you for the collective good.

Hilarious example!
I saw this very thing done in a news report where the video of Pelosis stuttering was blamed on digital misinformation.
Katie Couric will love it! She’ll no longer have to start a question with “Some people say...” She can create the video of them saying it!
It’s just like any other tech. The problem is in how people use it, not the tech. There’s perfectly legitimate uses for it (it’s ultimate “we’ll fix it in post”, for film and TV making). Of course it will be used for other purposes, that’s people for you.
They producers had taken some footage of ol'slick and edited them into the movie.
You could easily see where they'd done this.
I told my wife in the future it'd be possible to edit film to make it appear real.
Consider how much this generation relies upon social media for information. The selective editing of former presidential speeches, congressional testimony, etc, will present a new narrative of history.
Well if Rush said it, it must be true.
