The Iroquois were one of few tribes that supported the American rebels in the American revolution.

Most Indian tribes supported the British and fought for the British. To include massacres of pro-rebel civilians.

The Indians had a real knack for picking the losing side—although I do understand the reasons for their choices.
• In the French & Indian War most tribes supported the French. The French lost.
• In the American Revolution most tribes supported the British. The British lost.
• In the War of 1812, most tribes supported the British. The Brits didn’t win.
• In the Civil War, many tribes supported the South. The South lost.

Actually the Onwida supported the Rebels the other four New York tribes supported the British. Redult was the Valley Campaign where the Oneida joined Sullivan’s forces and fought thrir brothers.
