School officials in Colorado are considering demolishing Columbine High School because of a morbid fascination surrounding the 1999 shooting there that left 12 students and a teacher dead, according to reports.
In a letter sent to parents Thursday, the superintendent of the Jefferson County School District urged the officials to consider the possibility of razing the high school in Littleton and building a new one nearby, KUSA-TV in Denver reported.
Columbine serves as a point of origin for this contagion of school shootings, Superintendent Jason Glass wrote. School shooters refer to and study the Columbine shooting as a macabre source of inspiration and motivation.
He said that while Columbine is one of the safest high schools in the country, in part because of measures implemented since the shooting, this years 20th anniversary has brought trespassing and fascination with the school to record levels.

Official Superintendent Jason Glass needs concealing....
It’s only taxpayer money anyway.
That’s the best part. OTOH, they could dedicate it as a monument to Common Core.
"...morbid fascination..."
Every kid who’s attended there since Y2K has probably developed a victim mentality by proxy.
I don’t know, I bet it is a magnet for sickos who “visit” because they find what happened there 20 years ago “inspiring” so they are caught trespassing there. I wonder how many trespassers are where students are present. The media made the criminals famous in order to push an anti-gun agenda.
I had thought it was. Like they did at Sandy Hook.
close down the city and move away. It’s the only way to keep visitors away
They tore down the library, where most of the kids were killed.
Sickos would visit no matter if it were razed or not.
Let's tear it down anyway because it makes some snowflakes uncomfortable. It's only $70 Million of tax payer money (for a start).
I believe the McDonalds, where the San Yesidro massacre took place was torn down just after the killings, It seemed to be the catalyst on public mass shootings.
This killing also inspired the anti-gunners to go after rifles, something they said they would never do.
Remember this lie?
“WE don’t want to take away your guns. We ONLY want to control handguns! Long guns will not be affected!”
Make the entire state a national park. No visitors allowed. It’s the only way.
“This sounds to me like a money-grab to build a new high school.”
Just like they did to Sandy Hook school. Filthy democrats just pass the bill on to the already over-taxed home and business owners.
BS. As if the existence or non-existence of a building is going to change how they "study" and carry out the shooting.
