Bring on climate change and the melting snow will show more garbage and bodies.

The climbers leave the trash. I forget how many tons of trash is believed to have been tossed down crevasses, etc. over the years. More recently they have become aware of hauling the garbage back down. (Well - the government, not the climbers so much I don't think.)

Who left the trash!!?!?All the trust-fund babies who lecture the rest of us on global warming, carbon footprints and overpopulating the planet while they jet around the world and have leisure time to do things like climb Mt. Everest because they don't have a job to go to.
To: BenLurkin
I guess the old rule about leaving the trail or campsite cleaner than you found it does not apply to foolish, self-aggrandizing mountain climbers.

Food wrappers, human excrement, camping gear and corpses laying around everywhere? What do they think the place is? San Francisco?

Maybe they need to adopt this model. Folks can adopt part of the mountain. Bodies and all.
To: BenLurkin
They should just let the trash and bodies pile up until they are taller than Mt. Everest.
Then they can climb that.

Let me use the right picture(s).

IIRC, in the Mouse on the Moon book by Leonard Wibberley, they spaced all their trash en route, so when they arrived, all the trash also splashed down.

Who left the trash!!?!?All of the climbers....
And don't forget all the bodies....like 300+ of them!

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire. Or both.)

There is no more selfish a being than a mountaineer.
Regardless of national origin they are despicable one and all.

All the trust-fund babies who lecture the rest of us on global warming,
Those SOBs, screw them! But for one to be singled out takes some of the focus off the deserving others. I think - The low IQ - is sufficiently inclusive.

Mt. Everest is of course famous for being the highest mountain on earth. 29,029 ft. The climbers, therefore, desire to climb the highest peak on the face of the earth. Everest draws a crowd intent on clawing its way to the top of the world. Over corpses, whatever it takes to get to "Ever rest". Lots of litterbugs in the mix, not caring one bit about their trashy footprint. Eh, it all goes over the edge of some cliff; who's gonna know.
Interesting to observe, therefore, that...
Mt. Everest is a "Chinese mountain", geopolitical issues aside. So translate that to Hebrew and back again: Har Sinai [הר סיני].
Some endeavors are best left to Moses. You know he'd never leave so much as a candy wrapper up there, and he wouldn't need a "no littering" sign to remind him to have respect.
Explains why he was authorized to climb the mountain in the first place. :)

I wouldn’t call myself an environmentalist, but this is just outright rude.
I think the local government should weigh each climber and his/her gear upon arrival. Then weigh again before leaving, and only allow them to leave if they are carrying more weight leaving than arriving.
