Wendys has a commercial where a group of stereotypical Italian Americans crowd around an idealized white person and act crudely and threateningly towards him. They eat like slobs, eating spaghetti and meatballs, acting suspiciously of him, and generally make buffoons of themselves. They wear gold chains, have a darker complexion than the white man, and have very ethnic features such as black hair and big noses. Most obviously, the premise is that they are all mobsters and that the white man is there to defeat their evil. At the end of the commercial, two very non-Italian looking federal agents are shown.
This commercial was about a parmesan Caesar salad, by the way. The commercial took Italian food, culturally appropriated it, weaponized it, and attacked Italian Americans with it. The media is not covering this outrageous commercial. In fact, there is a civil rights group on Facebook that gets attacked, both by Italians and non-Italians, in very hateful language, just for pointing these kinds of issues out to the general public. Facebook, quick to ban right-wing haters, seems to be fine with the Italophobia...

I’ll draw the line at being accused of appropriating culture for eating veal parm, bocaccinis, spinach and sausage, strombolis, etc.
Someone will get a sock in the mouth.
If it weren’t for Polish immigration to Western Europe, there would be very few actual Christians in Western Europe.
Already ahead of you.
Another “group” trying to climb on the Affirmative Action gravy train?
LOL.
Who can forget this classic commercial:

(Little girl ordering a Pepsi)
Yes, my Swiss-Italian grandmother had red hair and blue eyes.
I’d like a Wop salad please....
My friend take a look at IQ levels across Europe and you will see Italians are at the top. There’s a reason they ruled the World, launched the Renaissance, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and now Salvini saving Western Civiliztion. Get back to me when Mexico does any of that.
Oh man, what a great video. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to cough up a lung.
My 100% Sicilian friend has blue eyes. My paternal grandfather from Naples had red hair. I had platinum blonde hair (gone now) have blue eyes but Im only 3/4 Southern Italian. 1/4 Irish/English/scott. So my eye/hair is a legitimate mix.
Classic. LOL
“Why not? Italy is just Europes Mexico”
Whats that Hodge/Podge SICILY good for then ?? Its a real mixture of darn near everything cept Eskimos....
Nice try by the author but Italians agree the original no need for affirmative action people who embraced the American dream.
The Ancient Roman Empire had people from all over the then known world; ergo that gene pool is HUGE!
Even the Southern area of "the boot" has produced blonde, red haired, and non-Mediterranean types.
Many Italians from Southern Italy and Sicily are “people of color” because they have significant numbers of African DNA as a result of various ethnic groups who have occupied Southern Italy and Sicily throughout history. For example, my wife, whose family immigrated from Napoli, recently found out, that she is not 50% Irish and 50% Italian as she had been told; rather, she is about 43% Irish, 40% Italian, 10% North African, 5% Greek, and 2% French.
How about the Portagees?
PING!
My Grandfather would have told most of those on this thread
“Mettilo dove il sole non splende”
Here’s the commercial he’s so worked up about. I would say he’s exaggerating just a little.

Sicily has had 17 invasions over the last 3500 years. Theres bound to be some mixed races in that group. You want the truth 23 and me. It might shock you. You can be genetically from one area but culturally from another area. My genetic background is Italian,Western Asia and Northern Europe but my cultural background is hotdogs, apple pie and the New York football Giants.
Ruled the world? LOL Italy is NOT Rome. Not even mostly genetically.
I’d argue that IQ stuff. Good at art, as are French and Spanish, but much else? No, the most famous Italians are for anything with true useful “IQ” was banking. Something about Latinates - obsessed with art, but not much else.
