The sun has ‘reached solar minimum’ and its surface is ominously calm

Eruptions from the face of our star are called ‘prominences’ and cause vast amounts of superhot gas to shoot into space, often forming beautiful loops on the solar surface. During the solar minimum, the number of flares and sunspots is dramatically reduced.

When the sun leaps back from its minimum after roughly 11 years, we’re likely to see more and more ferocious explosions on the sun.

Nasa warned: ‘After our Sun passes the current Solar Minimum, solar activity like eruptive prominences are expected to become more common over the next few years.’

The space agency has just released dramatic pictures of a ‘monster’ solar prominence recording by its Solar Dynamic Observatory in 2011, which shows what we should expect to see when the sun’s minimum reaches its end.

Nasa wrote: ‘The dramatic explosion was captured in ultraviolet light in the featured time lapse video covering 90 minutes, where a new frame was taken every 24 seconds. ‘The scale of the prominence is huge – the entire Earth would easily fit under the flowing curtain of hot gas. A solar prominence is channelled and sometimes held above the Sun’s surface by the Sun’s magnetic field.

‘A quiescent prominence typically lasts about a month, and may erupt in a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) expelling hot gas into the Solar System. The energy mechanism that creates a solar prominence is still a topic of research.’

Why the sun has nothing to do with earths climate only part per million changes in CO2 drive our climate. Increasing CO2 levels from 400 parts per million to (gasp) maybe 405 parts per million will end all life on the planet in a decade. The cure is a world socialist government with ultra smart bureaucrats and politicians like AOC running things (sarcasm)

“What will AOC require we do about this?”

She’s probably dust off the mid-1970’s plan to dust the ice caps with black soot to warm up the earth. (Yeah, that was put out there during those “An ice age is coming! AN ICE AGE IS COMING!” years.)

Millenials will be wishing for global warming in a decade or so. Ohhhhh, the irony.

Tell them to try again. These features on the sun have rotated back into view in recent days. At least two weeks duration at this point. Visible light isn’t everything as seen in spot free panel four.

For your reference the Carrington Event was a minor flicker compared to the Charlemagne:

The Charlemagne Event of 774-775 AD Was Caused by a Solar Storm

Interesting stuff. Thanks.

Anyone with a lick of common sense knows that solar eruptions, asteroids, meteors, and whatever other extraterrestrial events there might be, pose a much greater threat to mankind than “anthropomorphic climate change.”

Be a good time to land there.

There's a photo on Pinterest (can't find it now) where AOC said the best time to land on the sun was at night.

...And we still have to listen to the dolts insisting that warmth is man made!

Why isn’t this in the newspapers and on the tube?

We know the answer.
