Todays Cryptogram
XUPHP WL QVHP LXYOWBWXM XUKE UMBHVSPE WE XUP YEWTPHLP, KEB WX UKL K ZVESPH LUPZC ZWCP. --- CHKER NKOOK
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
I zapped through it in about 5 minutes.

Good one! Got the name and the rest fell in 2 minutes. Thanks!

I also like the joke from the very last line from the movie "The Proposal."

Just a thought...sometimes I don’t get around to the CG until the next day or so. When the solution to that CG is put in the “ping” post the next day, it’s a bit of a spoiler. Why not put the solution in the first post, that way it won’t be seen until the thread is opened?
Will do. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN POST THE ANSWER UPSIDE DOWN?
haha

thank you very much i will try this tomorrow!!!!
Makes for a good Sunday ‘sermon’.
Funny how once it was obvious where the u’s went (a ‘mistakenly’ placed ‘v’ opened it up for me) it was downhill from there.
Of course ‘p’ was very instrumental in solving..
That won’t work if one has a mirror at hand AND we are doing ‘cryptograms’ so the upside down should be a piece of cake.
I used to buy a newspaper and take into a bar and take their paper and do the crossword puzzle UPSIDE down and leave it for the next guy to figure out....
ie:
If You Can Raed Tihs, You Msut Be Raelly Smrat
“Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteers be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.”
Under one minute. I looked at it this morning, before coffee, but got up and went to church. Just now sat down and it kinda worked itself. Great quote.
Cool. I have dyslexic friends and acquaintances. I’ll freak them out by writing backwards or reading books upside down.
Thanks! ...ask an Australian? (ducking/running)
A yellow font works well on the Quotefall puzzles. Very hard to read unless you look for it.
