A rare 1966 Shelby GT350 has hit eBay after being hit pretty badly in an accident.
The white fastback featured on BarnFinds.com is being offered with a salvage title, and its easy to see why.
The left rear corner is bashed in so far that the cabin is crooked, while the right front fender is also crushed.
It looks like its in pretty good condition, otherwise.
Theres no significant damage to its 289 V8, which the Glendale, Calif., seller says turns over but doesnt run because of a hole in the gas tank, and the parts of the interior that survived are in great shape for a 53 year-old-car car with 93,000 miles on it. ..."
Fewer than 1,400 GT350 fastbacks were built in 1966 and the Hagerty Price Guide says that their values run from about $125,000 to $250,000, depending on the condition.
Considering the high mileage and the fact that its equipped with the least desirable automatic transmission option, this one probably wasnt on the high end of that range before the crash, but presents an opportunity for someone up to the combined challenge of restoring it and getting the salvage title cleared.

Wow! I have no problem at all understanding that that would be an extremely hard and difficult project. Often these things are more a labor of love than investment opportunity. Because you very rarely even break even when/if you later decide to sell the car.
I like the Schwinn Sting Ray on the lower left.
Bought a silver ‘66 with 3-speed stick a few years ago.
The “Krates”, in mint cond today, are selling for $3-$5,000!
Thats an automatic
Shelbys didnt come in automatic did they?
What kind of coup? Chevy, Ford?

Mustang. I thought that was assumed
A 66 Mustang you are selling for $1000? I’m a Chevy guy but that is tempting.
67. Pretty much good for buying a kit car and using the title on it. ROUGH
I could fix it.
You can buy every panel of that car on line or...you could find a 66 fastback and swap tags etc.
